I can’t find a generic Post for a Makino.
I would be willing to trade Post I have if someone
has tweaked a Post for a Makino A88 Horizontal.
I have good post for.
Mori Seiki SH63 Horizontal
Hitachi Seiki HS500 Horizontal
HAAS VMC
Niigata Horizontal
Okuma VMC
Normally I tweak them myself.
But I’m short on time.
So I’m looking for some help.
Well I’m back. I was transferred to another facility and was put on the shop floor running a Horizontal, until they found out I could program with MasterCam. So much for the gravy job. Now I’m back in a cubical.
I was working on the OKUMA Post, and got it to post the way I wanted, except for one problem. On a Drill Canned Cycle G81 line. It’s posting out a M54 (M99), I need a
M53 (M98). I searched the forum and found nothing on this. So I’m guessing it’s something simple, that I’m not seeing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Jim.
I haven’t been on the forum for a while. So maybe this has been discussed. But, has any body had trouble converting the new Auto Cad 2004 files. It converts fine. But nothing shows up on the screen.
Jim.
I’m trying to helix ramp down on the center of a hole. When I pick Entry-Ramp a window comes up with two tabs. A Ramp and Helix tab. If I don’t change a thing on either of these pages. My tool ramps down in a zig zag. If I go to the helix page and change my max and min radi, no mater what I set it to, it crashes. And I have to restart Mastercam.
Any ideas what’s going on?
Jim.
It also works well if you want to ramp down into a center line of an ID. Then circle out.
Pick Pocket, then set it to start from inside to out.
Set your ramp. And your good to go.
Can someone tell me how to shut off the B axis in the post? I need to create a macro program that will move my B axis where I need it. So I don’t want any B’s in my main program. I found where I can shut off the lock and unlock. But I’m still getting B moves.
Or getting my B moves to incremental would work also.
Jim.
Circular interpolation problem.
I’m counter boring multi holes. When I post with 9.1SP My G-code looks like this.
G01 X-.7846 Y1.506
G03 X-.7804 Y1.5052 R.003
And I get an undersized hole.
When I go back and use V9.0, my G code looks like this.
X-.7846 Y1.506 R.0155
X-.7804 Y1.5052 R.003
And my hole is correct.
9.1SP is dropping an R value. Any ideas why it’s doing this?
Jim.
oK, FANUC will be here next Tuesday to up grade memory to 256k. For a cost of about $1200. Not bad really. But I like the idea of getting some training on Pro-E.
Jim.
Sorry guys, I’m way to busy and haven’t had time to get back till now.
Yes I do want to reduce their size. And if there is a Rev change. It would be nice to pick the feature and know where it’s at in the program and what tool is doing what. And Yes we do have a seat of Pro-E and a programmer came with it. The problem was he liked to start at 9:30am and sneak out around 2:30pm. Well, that didn’t go over with the management. he lasted 2 weeks. And I know nothing about Pro-E.
I'm sure this has been coverd, but does anbody use MetaCut? We bought a Company, and all their programs were done with Pro-E. Or I should say, an off line post with Pro-E files. These programs are huge. And to re-do them in MC would take about 40 hrs per part.
So I'm looking at MetaCut to be able to make changes much easier. Any thoughts?
Jim.
I’m not trying to cause any hard feelings. My dealer my be on vacation. And that’s great if he is. We all need some time off. I’m just saying that. Thanks to this Forum, I can move on.
I wanted to thank everybody fo the help. We just completed the part with the new post. And it looks great. Thanks only to you guys. I put a call into my Rep yesterday and still have not heard back from him.
We'd still be dead in the water if it wern't for the help from the people on this Forum.
Thanks again!
Jim.
That’s not entirely true. It is putting in some G2’s and G3’s, but leaving them out in other places. So go easy on the smakes to the head. Cause I need your brain power.
Do you still think it's the updated post I need.
