  1. Hello all, I did a search of the forum and didn't find anything. I programmed to cut a sidewall using a 15 degree cutter using contour to a theoretical sharp corner. Verified the tool path, it looked good but I forgot to put a radius on the end of the cutter. I added the .1875 full radius, but now the cutter is staying away from the wall. I can see the difference when I back plot too. I'm Not sure if I'm explaining it right, any insight?
  2. This has been a topic of conversation at my company as well. I got my balls broken for talking on the cell phone but my work is always right and I'm done twice as fast as the guy who is "working his Butt off" usually its because he screwed it up and has to remake it over. My boss loves this guy always on time always working Me I push the clock - work smarter not harder, take the occasional cell phone call and get stuff done twice as fast. When does it become about productivity? They just fired one of the best CNC guys we had because he comes in 15 -20 min late. With that Quality has gone done, errors up. BTW he had a job that afternoon. Again productivity? When does it count?
  3. Thanks Tim. I might be mistaken but I'm not using t/c Plane. It is not checked in my parameters. If I do go and check it, it tells me it is not supported by my post. I took a copy of the #4 bottom WCS view and changed it origin to reflect the Z0 I wanted. Should I not be doing this? Just an FYI - the parts are running so it worked the first time, but now they want to use a bigger endmill and that when the error comes in
  4. A little more messing around I determined it not my transfered toolpaths. It my pockets?
  5. Hello all, I have an error I've never seen before and I'm hopeing to get some help. I'm programing the underside of a job in WCS N4* Worked fine. Now I need to change and endmill size and it is giving me the following error on my transfered toolpaths. ---------------------------------------------- Pocket(standard) Operations NCI does not contain any WCS information (line 1027) Regenerate it now? YES or NO ---------------------------------------- When I push yes nothing happens and when I push no I won't create the toolpath. any suggestions? Thanks in advance
  6. Thanks every - I went and searched the forum (again, first search was 0) and I found the answer. seems like I should go about it in a different manner than mirroring. Thanks!
  7. jmparis- This is a 3D cut. In Mirror I don't think I can change the comp side.
  8. Hello all, Not really a power user, I just hop on when I need to do some overflow programing. I have a problem I can't seem to fix. I am using a surface Finish flowline. Works great, until I want to Mirror it. Then it wants to conventional mill instead of climb mill. I've tried Reversing toolpath but that starts my cutter on the bottom of the cavity. Am I missing something? Thank in advance.
  9. thanks rekd. nice to know it's a glitch, not just because i'm a bafoon.
  10. configure looks fine. The problem is probably how I am using wcs. I like to set all my programs to z0 top of part and x,y as center. Folloes suite around here and keeps people from crying.I duplicate wcs#4 and set x0, y0, z= distance to bottom of part. When i use this wcs, z0 is top of face which is what i want. I feel it makes things easier to work on ( try to avoid t/c plane because i hate flipping the part around to watch the verify). But when i switch to the new wcs, it forces my wcs z value into the stock z origin so i need to reset values every time i change wcs. Not a big deal just annoying me.:banghead Thanks for any and all input.
  11. hello all. is there a way to stop mc from changing my x,y,z stock origin values when changing to a different wcs? if i use another wcs the system forces new values and i just want everythig to stay at zero. Just doing 3 axis work so i like using #4 wcs and set up so my zero is always center top. thanks
  12. Thanks for everybodies input. I appreciate it.
  13. Thanks Thad. There are alot of tricks i need to learn. I'll try a better search more geared toward graphical issues and speeding up the process as well.
  14. Good morning everyone. I'm just getting familiar this tool path and encoutered a strange event. When the cpu was scanning or drawing in the grid (setting up the layout, bare with me here), the system was moving incredibly slow. The hour glass was flashing on and off rapidly. When I moved the hour glass out of the graphic window to the tool bar it moved rapidly. Does anyone know what would cause this? I figure I need a better graphic card or more RAM. Have 512 of ram, not sure on VC. Hope i explained this well enough. I have about zero computer knowledge.
  15. goto patches at top of screen, May 2004 patches, Mr0304 mill patch.
