  1. We actually use another computer as our server and it has 4 com ports that our RS-232 is pluged into also our cimco dnc is installed on it. Then we access it from our main computer via radmin. I'll have to see if I can find anything in the manual on remote request. And We've never tried any remote requesting of programs. Which the reason behind just using another computer as our server was to keep all those files off the main network I believe, its been so long since we set all of it up I can't remember why everything was done the way it is.
  2. We just have the one server that everything is kept on as far as programs and we're running 3 machines through rs-232 com ports. My question is how do you set it up to do the remote request cimco's help section doesn't help me to much. Does it have to be run through network via Ethernet cable? Which I'm running 2 fadals and a Mitsubishi edm. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. climb and conventional. zig-zag is what I usually use when I program a facing operation. I usually step over 80% of cutter dia. 20% off the edge.
  4. cncchipmaker I would like it to come off the part , though it would be less time consuming to stay on the part then on the last pass at finish depth to come completely off the part. And I am running a fadal but the macro language seems to be basically the same as fanuc.
  5. Do you have a macro for facing a rectangle or square? Something where you can define the size and the tool diameter and it calculate step over. Plus tell it how much to take off and haw much per cut and it calculate it? I just started trying to write a macro's and trying to understand it at the same time. I thought it would be nice to have a program in the machine that when we went to prep a block we could just tell it the size of the block and how much to take off and what size facemill and start prepping. Instead of drawing it, then programing it at the computer sending the program to the machine. Thanks in advance for any help.
