Thank you for the info.
I finally got around to programming this part and the Axis substitution worked perfect.
I just wish the operator had QC'd the part before removing the 4th axis. Needless to say, 6 extra hours to rework a 45 minute part that was off by .005
Ok, you want credentials
4 years TIG welder
7 years manual machine and lathe (tooling dept.)
3 years CNC operater (G/M code programming)
and yes a newbie to MasterCam.
Only 2 years programming with MC.
And I have done most post mods myself.
Make no mistake I think MC is the best out so far. I have played around with others (surfcam, bobcam, unigraphics)
As far as manners, I always give thanks to those that help. Maybe I am asking the wrong questions but most answers are way off track or just someone trying to prove their EGO. I do realize that alot of you have been around MC for a long time and I respect that, but also I see alot of B.S. on here.

It seems that over half of the threads on this forum are post related.
How about Post development software for MC?.
Are you listening CNC Software Inc.?
MasterCam's real cost
After you buy the Software you must also buy:
Posts
File converters
education
ect.
ect.
ect.
When a new software comes out that offers free education, upgrades, ect., it will rule the CAD/CAM world.
Don't waste your hard earned money
Has anyone here had any experience with Flowmaster waterjet and MasterCam compatabilities. I would very much like to program our waterjet utilizing MC.
I am having trouble trying to program an "S" pattern along a 4 inch piece of bar stock.
The mill I am using is a 3 axis with an add-on 4th "A" axis that rotates along the X axis.
What I am trying to do is feed the endmill along X while turning the A axis forward and backwards to create an S pattern in the round bar. Is this possible?? It seems that the feeds would have to match perfectly to create the desired distance between the waves(high and low points) of the S pattern. Any help or ideas??
Thank you.
When I convert a IGES file developed in Unigraphics to Mastercam the geometry is full of surface errors. Is there any settings, globals, or thing I can change or do to limit or repair these errors ??? Or is this just the nature of file conversion ???

Thanks Dave,
I was able to get the # for ASCII to post but I cant get the # to convert to the actual ASCII character in the post.
Is there a simple # to ACSII command to output the character value?
what I'm getting:
IF [VATOL EQ 01 ] NAT65
NAT65 G00 G90
what I need:
IF [VATOL EQ 01 ] NATA
NATA G00 G90
Thanks

I recently modified the V9.1 okuma post to work with our machines and controllers. It works almost perfect except for a couple of things:
How do I get an alphabetical letter to call up on each tool change?
For example:
IF [VATOL EQ 02 ] NATA
T2 M6
NATA G00 G90
M1
G15 H01
I would like the "A" at the end of NATA to change to "B" and so on alphabeticaly at each toolchange.
Any help or sample posts would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
