  1. Is there any way to assign a chain to the rapid moves? I need to cut on opposite sides of a part and the part is too tall for the tool to rapid over, so I must creat some way to rapid around. I could machine around the whole part and change from G1 TO G0 manually, but the part is very complex and has many stepovers and depth passes. I'm just looking for an easier way to do this. ThanX
  2. Which files do you back-up besides MC9 files? config tools posts ect. ect.
  3. I tries the HighRES software that came from FARO and it crashed my system. After attemping to reload Cam2, MC and HighRES (with help from cust. support) a few times with no luck I finally gave up.
  4. If this problem has been fixed in X then I will just wait......and wait............and wait.............for X to arrive in my mailbox. Thanks Randle
  5. "Work offset number already used for a different view defined in operation" I know this, why does it have to tell me everytime I open T/C plane. I want to have 1000 different views on the same offset ,thats my intention. This warning is a big pain in the xxxx......an extra 10 or so clicks for every op IS there any way to turn this OFF?? 6. When I travel outside the US I tell people I'm from Canada. The world is becoming very rude and hostile to Americans abroad. It's not that I am not proud to be American, it's just a safety issue.
  7. France Netherlands Belgium UK Germany Switzerland ?? Length of time and location would depend on securing employment.
  8. Does anyone know of a decent resource for overseas MC job postings, particularly in the European area? I will be traveling overseas for a period of time and would like to experience the manufacturing environment in a different industrialized nation. Thanks
  9. I'm just joking about the smurfcam thing, but I really wish X would get here ....... NOW!!!!! My patched up V9 SP-MR99999.99.999.666 or whatever, Just have too many little bugs that can really p--- a guy off!!!!!
  10. I'm starting to think that X is just a sales ploy. I will believe it when I see it!! Untill then I'm going to check out the NEW Surfcam. Flame on, if you must.......
  11. For me, Mastercam only crashes 1 or 2 times a day. It's about as stable as WinXP. Hmmm....
  12. Macine is Okuma w/osp5020 control Post is customized MPOKUMA thanks RAndle
  13. Is it possible to change a post to output a rotation from 0 up to 180 deg. then after 180 post -179 decreasing down to -1 and back to 0. Right now, I set the post to reset to 0 at 360 deg., but I need it to output negative numbers to rotate the backwards direction to keep larger parts that cannot rotate a full 360 from crashing. I have been manually changing the programs to get this to work, for example, I change all A270. to A-90. and this works great, but it is time consuming. here is a sample of my current post # -------------------------------------------------------------------------- # Rotary Axis Settings # -------------------------------------------------------------------------- vmc : 1 #0 = Horizontal Machine, 1 = Vertical Mill rot_on_x : 1 #Default Rotary Axis Orientation, See ques. 164. #0 = Off, 1 = About X, 2 = About Y, 3 = About Z rot_ccw_pos : 0 #Axis signed dir, 0 = CW positive, 1 = CCW positive index : 0 #Use index positioning, 0 = Full Rotary, 1 = Index only ctable : 5 #Degrees for each index step with indexing spindle use_frinv : 0 #Use Inverse Time Feedrates in 4 Axis, (0 = no, 1 = yes) maxfrdeg : 2000 #Limit for feed in deg/min maxfrinv : 999.99#Limit for feed inverse time frc_cinit : 1 #Force C axis reset at toolchange ctol : 360 #Tolerance in deg. before rev flag changes ixtol : .01 #Tolerance in deg. for index error frdegstp : 10 #Step limit for rotary feed in deg/min Thank You. 14. What is the typical pay range for this position. I recently moved from Portland to Bend It's very cold here in the winter, but no RAIN! My wife has really been pushing for us to move back over to the valley. Randle
  15. I have tried this, It works great untill I try to mill from the back plane. For some reason the back plane posts an "A0." rather than an "A90."
  16. Correction: This only works if the rotation angle never changes in the program. What I'm trying to do is this: When I create a program that uses a rotation or "A" axis to rotate a part I do not use Tplane or Cplane. I just rotate the geometry and put it on another level. When I post the program I then must go in and manually change the "A0."s to the required degree. I would like to have a way to enter the "A" angle in the tool parameters dialog box for each tool and have it output in the POST right after the "comment". Any info or comment would be appreciated. Thanks Randle
  17. I would like to customize the tool parameters dialog box. Is is possible to change the words "Progam #" to something different? I do not use a program number and would like to set this box up to output a 4th Axis rotation angle. I have got the "Program #" string to output as a G0 A(Program # string) in the post. I just need to change the wording in the dialog box. I searched Mill9.TXT for "Program #" but found nothing. Is this at all possible? Thank You. Randle
  18. Have you tried the HTML set-up sheet? I think you can find it under "Tools" at the top of the page.
  19. When drip feeding with our Okuma DNC-B an operator cannot start in the middle of a program he must start from the beginning, so if he bails out in the middle, he needs to know which line number to edit the program from on the host PC. Drip feeding memory size is only limited by the host pc so huge programs are no problem. Randle
  20. Thanks. I am going with the hardcode method for a machine specific DNC type post for large drip feed surfacing programs with line numbers from N1 to N10000+. Randle
  21. How do I change the default starting line number from "N100" to "N1" and the increments settings in the MPOKUMA post? I found the Max line number setting but no starting number or increment amount. Thank You. Randle
  22. Yes, bugs are a fact of life, but I have worked most of them out already. I just wanted to get a heads-up on any new bugs that may arise with SP2.
  23. I have been holding off upgrading to XP Pro SP2 until all the bugs have been worked out. If you have had any problems, bugs or fixes regarding XP Pro Sp2 and MC Mr0304 Please post them here. I have searched the forum and found a few posts. I don't think any of us can afford to mess with operating system glitches. Thank you. Randle
