I am working with a university and am setting up a new VMC, a SMTCL 850E. It has a tool magazine so the post must have the M6 on a seperate line and then call up the next tool #
Anyone have someting like that? I am curently useing a generic Fanuc Post. Still running X5
Thanks for any help.

I am not sure your meaning. A typical tool length offset for me would be -12.3456. My normal is to set the tools to the Z0 of the part so that my Z fixture offset is Zero.
Thanks for the idea but I don't see how that one applies. That one is referencing the G code while I need to have it address the Machine coordinate values instead of the Relative coordinate values when setting the tool length.
I just got in a new machine that has a Fanuc Oi controller. When you go to set a tool, it grabs the relative value instead of the machine coordinate value. Does anyone know which parameter needs to be changed so that I can set tools the old fashion way? Any help would be great.
