  1. Hello all

I have a question about posting out the operation name when I call for the sub?  I would like it on the same line as the callout. (see program example below)

Is it possible to do this?

I can post out a generic statement but not the operation comment itself.

    from my post:

    pbore2$          #Canned Bore #2 Cycle     #DJ  CHANGED TO A G66 OUTPUT
        drilgcode = 2
          pdrlcommonb
          pcan1, pbld, n$, *sgdrill, dwell$, pdrillparam1, "( TYPE OPERATION HERE SUB )", e$ #pbore2$ set to post a G66

    ( THROUGH HOLES / BALL SURFACES )     <-----------------------------------------------------------------
    N100 M01
#752=#4314 (CURRENT BLOCK FOR TOOL BREAKAGE RERUN)
    #753=0.
    #720=0. (COMPLETED PART COUNTER)
    G00 G17 G21 G64 G40
    G69 G80 G90 G94 G98
    G91 G28 Z0.
    M31L4 (SET MACHINING MODE LEVEL)
    M06 T02 ( 1.5 SPHERICAL / BALL-NOSED ENDMILL )
    G65P8001 (TOOL LENGTH CALC SUB)
    S23000 M03
    G00 G90 G54 X-241.3 Y-43.0
G5.1 Q1. (HIGH SPEED MACHINING ON)
    G43 H122 Z5.
    M08
    G04 X3.0 (WAIT FOR COOLANT)
    G66 P0681 F750. (THROUGH HOLES / BALL SURFACES SUB)        <-----------------------------------------------------------------

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks and stay safe

  2. hello all

Having a little issue with the manual entry in  mastercam 2019.  We switched over to 2019 from 2017 today and I tried posting out my program.  Normally I start with a manual entry with some instructions, then my toolpaths and then I end with another manual entry with some more instructions.

I have spaces (blank lines) in the manual entry text box (alt+255) to keep it neat and readable.  In 12017, this worked like a charm.  In 2019, it's posting out like the blank lines are not even there.

Anyone have any ideas on  why this is happening and a fix for it.

I'm also occasionally not able to regenerate the manual entry op if I edit the text.  Has anyone else had this issue?

    Thanks

    Joey

  3. Hello all

Does anyone out there have any recommendations where to get micro tooling, more specifically a .5mm endmill?

I need to look at other suppliers to try out.  The ones we use now don't last very long.

We are cutting at 66,500 rpm in .5mm thick titanium.

    Thanks ahead of time

    Joey

  4. Hello all

I posted this in the Post Proceesor forum and wan't getting any replies so I thought I would try it here.

I've been struggling on how to post out manual entry ops without any "N" number.

My order of ops I have is it starts off with a manual entry posting out as code (variable list and probe checks).

then I have the next two ops as drilling and surfacing (two different tools).

then I have another manual entry followed by a contouring op.

I'm currently getting a "N" number on the first op (manual entry) and nothing on the second path.

After that, every op is getting a N number.

What I would like to do is NOT get "N" numbers on the manual entry ops.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,  Joey

  6. Hello everyone,

We transitioned to a new company and gave us different computers and loaded Mastercam on them but I'm not sure if it's the latest and greatest version.   They put 2017 on our machines but I don't know if the service packs were loaded.

I'm thinking if it's not the latest, I would get a "update notification".

Anyway, where can I find out what service pack I'm on?

    Thanks

    Joey

  7. Hello all

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on reducing the amount of stress being introduced when roughing 316L stainless steel?  I have some curved parts and I'm having difficulty with the amount of stress in the part.  The longer the part, the more my dimensions are off.

Changing vendors is not an option.  Wish it was.

Curious how others have tackled this issue.

    Appreciate any input, thanks

    Joey

  8. Yes I'm aware of the sliders at the bottom.  I'm looking for a reason why with some parts it takes a long time to run them through verify and other similar parts of the part family it goes much quicker.  All the parts use the same settings in verify.

Not looking for cycle times.  I don't think it's computer performance because I have a part 10mm longer and 6 more tool operations and it verifies quicker than the shorter one.

  9. I have a part that takes 45 minutes to verify and it only takes 23 minutes to run it on the machine.  There are other parts that are longer in this part family that only takes 10 minutes to verify and 30+ minutes on the machine.  The parts are not that big at all.

I have 32gb of RAM on my computer.

    Running 2017 Mastercam.

I've ran the "Repair File" function in Mastercam.

I only have one window open of Mastercam.

Anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix the verifying issue.

    Thanks

    Joey
