Has work slowed for you at the end of 2008?

We're still working 9 hour days here, but we haven't had but a handful of new jobs since the 1st of the year. My Uncle owns a Tool Shop in Hopkinsville (about an hour away) and he went from 30+ people down to 8 or 10...not looking good. -

Transform/roll, then pick your chain (in your case it would probably be better to use "window" the select copy or move and you can select x or y axis and select or type in your arc rad. HTH

We sent ours to: A & A Mfg. Co. 2300 S Calhoun Rd. New Berlin, WI 53151 262-786-1500 They repaired them for a fraction of new cost. We done the same as you....bought new ones, sent old ones out for repair, so when it happens AGAIN we can rotate guards. HTH

Yes I did. They were set at .001 and I changed them to .0001. The only reason I done this is because I have been complaining about my PC being slow and my Re-seller told me about the Benchmark file so I thought I would give it a shot. I have been working on a 53Mb mold base and I thought my PC was slow, but I am happy now that I see everyone elses speeds. Thanks to everyone that helped.

I know this dont sound right to me and dont start flaming, but I just done this 3 times. The first time was 5:45, so I done it again just to see if I was freaking out or something and the 2nd time was 1:43 and the 3rd time was 1:43 Dell Precision 670 Dual Xeon 3.2Ghz 4Gb RAM Win XP 32 Bit X2 MR1 SP1

I am trying to do a comp in control move with a 3/4 inch cutter in a 1 inch hole. Is this possible? I have seen a Haas machining center do this. I have the 18i Fanuc control. MX2 [email protected]

Knowing now, how much time it would take to try and convert this file, yes it would have been easier. The file I am working with is one of those old tried and true programs. We put the $1000.00 block in the mill and 8 hrs later take out the rough part. Thanks for the tip on EDITNCI

I can load the geometry file, without a problem, into ver. 9. When I try to import the nci file I get an error that says the tool can not be found in the tool library. The programmer that quit two years ago never upgraded when the software did.

Can anyone recommend any good books for machining Solids with X? I like the way the High speed toolpaths are layed out but I can't get the desired results I am looking for.

I am trying to create a 4 axis wirepath that has to follow a spline, X says that splines are not allowed. Is there a way to create an arc or curve to replace the spline? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bill, We also have a Hurco with the laser option, and Hurco told us that until there next update (which is also a hardware update) it will only do tool management in conversational programs. I bet that wasn't in your sales brochure.

Sounds like you need to select all of your ops and right click, edit common para., change nci name to machine_group_1. See if that helps, I had the same thing happen to me last week. That fixed it.
