Steve,
I have been working on something similar but have also been trying to take thread height into consideration.
Is that something that should be figured, or not necessary?
Long story short - I had to let our wire guy go and now need to get programs done.
I put 2 files on the FTP Site in the WIRE folder.
T5659R00.MC9 Does not work. I get an error 'Lead-in not succesful - check thread position' The operations were imported from a file that works. It must be something I am doing, but cant figure it out.
T5655R00.MC9 Works fine
If someone could take a look, I would greatly appreciate it.
Its time to start converting V9 files to X.
In going thruogh the Transition Guide, I didnt find an answer to this;
Can all X files (ops., tools, etc., etc.) be in the same directory's as V9 files. Are they named different so V9 files are not overwritten?
Does converting corrupt any V9 files?
Thank's for your help. Wish me luck!!!!
What does your code look like? I and K are amount to leave in X and Z for rough. This is what I have!!
code:
G71 P100 Q102 U.02 W.005 D.1 F.014
N100 G00 X.88 S1000
G01 Z-.0183
X1.0282 Z-.0924
X1.06 Z-.6031
Z-.76
X1.8207
N102 X2.1187 Z-.7999
Mike,
Its in there. But you bring up something else I want to do. Numbering operations so they coincide with tool number and number of times it is used.
This is what I have now
First time for tool 3
N3
T303
Second time for tool 3
N3
T303
This is what I want
First time for tool 3
N31
T303
Second time for tool 3
N32
T303
etc., etc.
Ive been putting this of for a while!!!
Is there a way to distinguish between operation types (O.D. Rough/O.D. Finish - I.D. Rough/I.D Finish)?
What I need to to do is identify I.D. operations and have the post retract the bar out of the part. Yes this can be done with ref. points, but it gets missed once in a while.
I have changed pl_retract, but this changes all operation types. Thats ok, but would like only I.D. to be affected.
Modified fanuc post.
To simplify what I need. . . . .
If any operation, other than the first, has mi10 = 1, I need to put that as a comment in at the beginning of the program.
code:
lsof
if mi10=1, "(MI10 = 1)", e
The problem is that this only reads the first op. How do I read all ops then post it in lsof ??????
Hope that explains it better
I went throught this process about 18 monthes ago. We chose MultiDNC for price and comfort factor with rep. We also added bar code readers at each machine. The operators scan the code, then receive their program. It works very nice. No PC's on the floor and no operators in and out for floppy disks.
Software, hardware, cable and adaptors for 12 machines cost under $11,000. I figured the pay back to be less than 1 year.
We have added more machines, which is very simple, and a second system in one of our plants in Indiana.
HTH
Mark,
I tried that - Cant get it in 9 or X.
yes I am on maint.

I remember some people were saying it was causing them to experience vertigo Initaially I didnt care for it either. Now I have grown to like it.
Hymen,
We run a Nakamura TW-20 (twin/twin). I set it up so that all transfer/cutoff (things that need wait codes) are all done in sub programs. All variables that the sub programs need are posted in the main program. It works slick for us.
Don,
Can you e-mail some code so I can see what I need to change in the post!!!!
Also, was there anything you needed to change in the control?
Thanks a bunch
