I create STL files for 3D printing. Most of the time the screen goes blank while Mastercam is generating the STL file. There were tims when I saved the file it would show graphickly on the screen as it was creating the triangles. I tried to find how I did this as i would like to see this when I save STL files. It seem to happen when I looked at options on the save but so far I have not found how to make it work for every save.

A while back Windows 10 had a major update. Somehow the config file that Mastercam 2017 was using was placed in Windows onedrive. The ubdate played around with onedrive and after that Mastercam would start up and hang looking for the config that was moved. How do I fix Mastercam when it can't find its config. Most programs creat a default file when that file is critical for its operation when it can't find it.

I am the robotics teacher at John Paul Catholic School. We use Mastercam 2017 design to make solid figures and parts. We then save them as an STL file. The STL file is loaded into CURA. Cura is a free slicer that you can down load on the internet. It will generate the G-Code for you 3D printer.We use Cura version 15 as the graphics worked better on a PC. There is a later version that works good on a MAC, but you can't move it around with the arrow keys and sometimes that's a problem. Good luck/

OK Design has been running on this computer just great with the graphic chip that is installed. It does not have a separate card as there are no plugins. The fact that it worked great before the update and not after the update says to me the hardware is working fine update was from Microsoft not from Mastercam. I know that Wintows 10 pro is recommended, but Design 2017 works just fine on 10 Home. Design is all that we use from Mastercam. No tooling graphics. When I backed off the Windows upgrade, now our Design is working just fine. on Windows 10 home and the graphics hardware we have.

Thanks for the reply's We have touchscreen Lanoves AIO with Inter graphics. Itbrings up the full Master interface with ribbon then just spins its wheels. Since we are using them in a class right now, I just went back to the last Windows version, as I don't have time to play with it this semester. Wlii try to fix next semester. Windows 10 feature update also messed up Microsoft Outlook and One Drive. Mastercam Tolland CT gave me some things to try. Bob

Mastercam design 2017 starts to load but does not finish. This started when windows 10 did its new feature update this week. Design is the only part of mastercam that I have locense. Worked great on my system until upgrade.
