  1. Could be run-out in the tool holder system.

At that dia. the more true it runs the longer it'll last.

In Aluminum we went from 90 pcs/emill to 1200 pcs/emill (.0938 dia) just by using a Nikken Mini-Mini collet setup w/ guarenteed runout of .00015 or less

  2. Methinks the lead of the th'd would be ok but

the geo at the major dia's crest would have much too large a radius.

Might work if the th'd mills teeth came to a point.

Then again, if the 14p th'd mill id used like that for a 56p thread, there might be clearance problems in the th'd form due to helix angle differences.

  3. +1000 to everybody !!

Also take into account the dims of the pallet plate.

If there is enough axes stroke, the spindle cover or cowling might hit the pallet plate if

the tool isn't extended fat enough, 'specially if the tstone is indexed 45 degrees so's the corner of the pallet plate is aligned to the Z axis.

(learned that one the hard way)

  4. Mabye if you move the circle to a different level, shut off the original level w/ the offending arcs.

Or shut the level w/ the circle you need off, then delete the offending arcs, turn the circle level back on and try it???

    btw, Welcome to the forum

  5. I just posted a tranformed rectangle using the stock McamX Fanuc 3 axis generic mill.

    Drew 1 rectangle , Transform , translate toolplane origin only checked, Method=toolplane ,rectangular , x spacing = 2

    y spacing = 2, x steps=3, y steps=3

and got this for a result

methinks the big difference was the selection of the toolplane method instead of coordinate.
