  1. The differance between cutting an inside arc and an outside arc has to do with chip thinning http://www.otmtools.com/tech_milling.htm Mastercam's Highfeed will fix the problem.
  2. MetaCut will change the feed of a arc based on its radius to compensate for the limitations of the machine not on whether it is an inside or outside arc like Hugh was asking. I do not know what formula job setup uses.
  3. Go Delete, All, Mask, check arcs and specify diameter
  4. Excellent chook I love the level browse feature.
  5. The end result is still the same. (Backplot with "Simulate Cutter Comp" turned on). The demo file was generated with v8.0 which would bridge over areas smaller than the tool diameter with a raduis 5% larger than the tool radius. This was changed to using lines in V8.1 wich would allow for usage of a larger tool and still not give a CC error at the control. [ 10-15-2001: Message edited by: Glenn Bouman ]
  6. Change this code: pcir # Circular interpolation pcomp n, sgplane, *sgcode, x, y, z, *i, *j, k, pcan to this (add * in front of X and Y) code: pcir # Circular interpolation pcomp n, sgplane, *sgcode, *x, *y, z, *i, *j, k, pcan
  7. I hooked one up last week with no problem using CimcoEdit, just read the manual that comes with the machine. http://www.southwesternindustries.com/TAGE3Control.htm http://www.southwesternindustries.com/dpm5-1.jpg
  8. I think the initial question is that there is way too many mouse clicks to add a Stop point on a contour. Since Stop points are the most common edits that are performed with change at a point, it should be move to the first dialog box. [ 10-13-2001: Message edited by: Glenn Bouman ]
  9. Assign a .CFG file with each post. Then specify what .SET file to use in each CFG file.
  10. If you use MPMASTER.PST form this web site, you just have to set Mi10 on the second operation to output a M00 and a tool re-callup. Using View 4 will flip your part about the y axis. If you want the part flipped about the X axis use Gview, Rotate, Y+ up, and enter 180 degrees
  11. It is beacause of the preview image that gets saved with the file. If you turn off "Save thumbnail with geometry" the file will be 4k
  12. I set up a Drawing Board III last week and it worked fine. Read the Digitize.doc in the c-hooks directory file. You will need to go thru the setup procedure for that Digitizer based on the settings in Digitize.doc To enter the setup procedure read the PDF file that comes on the Calcomp CD. Do not set the Digitizer as a mouse. good luck
