  1. Over the weekend I had need to edit a drawing file X2MR2. One of my edits was to change the diameter of several cirlces, from one diameter to a larger diameter. I had recalled a C-hook with this function, but did not find in in my C-hook folder. I did a forum search and found the ArcMultiEdit c-hook. I installed the dll and ft in the c-hooks folder. After restarting the system I received an error message that referred to the ArcMultiEdit C-hook - it was something about unrecognized net file. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this C-hook working in X2MR2?
  2. John, Thank you for the input, but that does not address my questions. I already have a drill block defined. It does not have horizontal drills set up. From the What's new for X2MR2 - there is information about a new feature that provides for horizontal drills in the block drill configuration. It mentions a wizard to set up the block drill. I am not able to locate the wizard and there is nothing listed in help. I wanted to know if I can edit my existing block drill to enhance it to include the horizontal drills?
  3. XRMR2 Router - I see in the what's new file that an enhancement has been added for block drill and adding horizontal drills. There is mention of a drill block creation wizard. I am not able to locate the wizard - how is it invoked? I also wanted to know if current drill blocks in Machine Def can be edited to include/add the horizontal drills to the block drill?
  4. Is the manual entry tied to the post at all? The reason I ask, is when I invoke manual entry and type out the text, select "as code" and generate the code, the code shows the manual entry as commented text and then adds its own M00. X2MR2 Router
  5. This sounds like it should be fairly easy to do, but I am not sure how to make it stick. I would like to have a template - blank slate - with my typical list of levels. Also is there a way to match colors to levels? In other words - can all entities created on a given level default to a specified color associated with that level. I would like this template to load at startup and when moving from a current drawing, to a File -> New. I have seen mention of others using a VB script to organize levels - any assistance here would be appreciated also.
  6. quote: Whenever I I have a "family of parts" situation I basically create the template on the first job. it's just a matter of re-chaining. I also use a VB script to keep levels consistent. Could you offer a description of this concept. I have been running into issues with merging files and crossing levels - it can get messy! Would you be willing to share the script? Also is there a way to default to a template when opening a fresh drawing? Looking forward to streamlining the process!
  7. Roger - after further review the font is an OTF and not a TTF - is there a method of conversion that anyone is aware of?
  8. Roger - I followed your control panel insallation advise and a message box appeared telling me the fonts were already installed. They were in the font list for the windows font folder. I rebooted and went back to X2MR2 create letters and clicked the TrueType box, and they are not appearing there. Any other suggestions?
  9. I am trying to figure out how to utilize a true type font on my computer. The font is located in the Font folder in the Windows folder. How do I get Mastercam X2MR2 to see it and use it?
  10. I was looking for some advice on this topic. We run a Komo CNC Router with a Fanuc 210 - im controller. The controller is Windows 95 based, and can not be easily or inexpensively upgraded to a newer OS. We use X2 MR2 for CAD/CAM work and sending code to CNC controller, along with normal MS Office type apps. We have been using Dell Latitude laptop, with Windows XP Pro, for several years now, and the laptop has a small hard drive (by today's standards) and seems slow when working with larger surface type files. If you were to upgrade to a new laptop, what would you pick? Hopefully something that will be very fast and capable of working with X2 while still being able to network with the Windows 95 OS on the Fanuc.
  11. Can anyone offer advise on scaling an object by reference. Example two rectangles, one large and one small, both with lower left corner at origin 0,0. The goal is to scale the large rectangle to the size of the small. Autocad has a feature that allows you to pick reference points and not have to calculate any scale factors. Can Mastercam do anything like this?
  12. Eric, That is the trick - perfect! Thank you for the technique!
  13. Does Mastercam have a sequence to rotate an objet, that is like a feature in Autocad. Autocad provides for a rotate object by referencing three points. The rotation point itself, the original point and the point to rotate to. Can anyone offer advise? Example, if two lines form an angle, the convergence of the lines would be the rotation point. The end of one line would be the original point from and the end of the other line, would be the point to rotate to.
  14. I installed the fixedsetupsheet.dll in my c-hooks folder and changed the configuration file to other and pointed to that file. Now I just see a blank screen in MC Editor, when it opens.
