  1. I have been trying to do a simple 6 up part in our DMV4020. I have to hop over some some clamps @ 2 different levels, so I was using reference points to control the approach & retract for each part (the high step). I was using the clearance to hop over the clamps on each part (the low clamps). If I have both clicked on using the MPmaster, I will only get the reference points in my code. It doesn't output the clearance at all. The graphics on the screen display it, but doesn't post it. N10 G91 G30 Z0 T6 M06 (5/16 DRILL) G00 G90 G95 G54 X3. Y0. S7000 M03 G43 H6 Z8. 2. We have one with a gantry, but I haven't spent much time with it. I do know that the guys working with it would rather not. I believe they are using the y offset page. He told me that they can't use they touch arm if the tool isn't the main tool at Y0. It gives them some number about 5" off. If you would like more info, please contact my co-worker. I'll PM his email to you. His name is Bernie. He may have alot of questions for you as well. Leif [ 11-06-2006, 08:29 PM: Message edited by: Leif ]
  3. That would be great if you could send it. I had that happen on every Pro/E file that I opened. Thanks Leif
  4. I am getting alot of extra lines in my Pro/E files. They must be some sort of creation planes or something. They look like alot of rectangles with an X in the middle that connects the corners. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks Leif
  5. I think Pro/E is an excellent modelingtool. I only use it for modeling, but our model shop also uses Pro/NC. 40 hours is about right for training in my opinion. We have guys for for 1 or 2 day training and barely know the basics. I would spend as much time training as possible so long as it is being productive.
  6. Is it possible to modify a fillet in lathe toolpath geometry. I have to change a bunch of fillets on a lathe job. Normanlly I would just create a different size fillet, delete the old, then rechain. This part is one that I was blanking several from a piece of tubing. I did a transform that created new ops & geometry because I needed to put in a manual entry for the modified cutoff sequence & it wouldn't let me transform a manual entry. This would require alot of rechaining. Thanks Leif
  7. Try reselecting your machine. I had the same thing happen today. Every tool was outputting in G97 until I did. Leif
  8. Lap cycles = does not appear to. Long code & mill looks really good.
  9. My reseller has pulled through. They sent me an updated post that appears to be correct. They are an awesome bunch to deal with!
  10. If I didn't have Mastercam, I would think it is great. Some of it was a pain, but alot of it is automatic. I don't like automatic. I like options. It was only the first day. I will let you know more Friday night. ADMAC itself will not elimainate crashes, just give good code. The instructor told it that the thread was an ID when it was an OD. Threaded just fine. Right through the stock and not one error. He said the the 3D simulation is needed to detect collisions. I like the fact that I can proove out macros. Just like running the machine.
  11. My point was that there is no single post available for an Okuma Mill/TURN. I don't understand why there would be no need from others for a post. For me to have to do an update from a V9 to X as the only post available seems a bit odd. I'm still doing work arounds for our Mori ZLs. Sorry for venting, it's been a long day. My boss has sent me to 4 days of training on ADMAC parts.
  12. My reseller emailed me and said they don't know what the problem is. He is going to send it in to CNC. Our reseller is awesome for support. You & I must be the only ones with an Okuma mill / turn lathe. Hopefully CNC will know what will need changing in the machine & control defs. I updated both Okuma V9 posts to X. The 2x has worked great the whole time. Just wish I could drill some mounting holes.
  13. You saw what it did to the turning ops. Those weren't lap cycles.
  14. I don't understand why MILL / TURN : YES does not do lathe & mill ops. It says it does. Have you ever tried NC G-post or ICAM? Our model shop uses NC G-post with Pro/man.
  15. Do you use the lap cycles? I generally long code everything. It's too bad there isn't a mill / turn post. Hopefully someone is working on one.
  16. Are you still posting 2 separate programs & pasting together?
  17. Did Dave have a mill / turn post available? Maybe I will have to use my 2 axis post alittle longer.
  18. I tried that with the same results. I think it is the post. I will try again.
  19. Any ideas as to what I need to change? We just got the machine & I had been using the 2 axis post. I will need this post to work so I can use some live tools. I did a beyond compare of the V9 & the updates X post. The following is the only major differences other than the $: linktolvar$ : 1 #Associate X tolerance variables to V9- variable? linkplnvar$ : 1 #Associate X plane specific variables to V9- variable? linklvar$ : 1 #Associate X lathe specific variables to V9- variable? cant_tlchng$ : 1 #Ignore cantext entry on move with tlchng_aft? If I select the version X - 2 axis post with this machine def, everything is fine. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Leif
  20. Yes, I've done all of mine that way. Something really got hosed, just not sure what & how.
