  1. Yes I remember them well from the early 80's. There is one up for auction on EBay today. Tell your friend to buy up all of the toolholder parts he can get his hands on, (sear pins, drive cones, springs, and housing rings) and keep the assemblies clean & lubed. Very light duty machine at best, the tool holders seem to be held onto the spindle nose by magic. - Good Luck !
  2. Yes I read it online at: www.indystar.com/articles/2/169097-5932-009.html What a way to start your Monday !!
  3. Greg,Paul It is good to hear that everyone had a great time and made it back home safely. We were around 16th & Georgetown just after dark on Sat. night and the party was just getting started, not wild yet. When we saw the News at 11:00 p.m. it looked & sounded more like the track parties from years ago ( the ones that I remember anyway ). Mct010, The only Randy's pizza we found in the yellow pages was "Randy's Tu your Door" in Wanemaker - they didn't deliver downtown and we were in for the night after a swim. We went with a place called Bazbeaux's on Mass. Ave and it was great. They were really piled high with toppings and the crust was perfect.
  4. Yes, We are driving over Sat. a.m. and back on Monday. We will hang out downtown Sat. night and be in stand "C" on the front straight for the race.
  5. John, We use mill to either translate DWG files or draw the parts. Then I path with comp set to "control" and comp direction set to tell the control which side the kerf is on. Our Burny control has variable kerf amount and the capability to scale up or down at the machine if needed.
  6. S, We set Comp type to "Control", and Comp direction to "Right" as a default. Then pick your entities by whichever end gives you the desired direction of travel to keep comp to the outside of part profile. We have Burny 10 LCD Plus control retro- fitted on an old (mid 70s) Linde shape cutting machine with 4 torches and 1 Plasma station mounted to torch 1. We control kerf allowance with the control and kerf direction with our post. The Burny control should be able to use a "K" value for kerf amount if I read the manual correctly. We have old previously existing programs (6000 plus) that we needed to keep using though.
  7. Dan, There are two posts on the V8.1 disk that might be a good starting point, MPBURNY and MPLINDE. Check with Q.T.E. (MasterCam dealer in St. Charles & Kansas City) about updating & tweaking it to get output that your machine likes. We have an old LINDE burn table with oxy-fuel & plasma that uses a Union Carbide UCNC-2 control and they were very helpful with the posts.
  8. Thad, Actually, I was getting ready to go play in the garage for a while but thought I would check the forum from home to see if anything was going on. I wish everyone a good holiday weekend.
  9. I will be pulling for E Jr. He shows signs of being able to "see air" and play the aero game just like his dad. Staying out of trouble while 3 & 4 wide will be the challenge again this time around. Good one about Tony. Some one has to play the bad guy though.
  10. Normy871 & James, We have a G&L V5 with the 800 control and I am using MPGL from vers. 8.1 CD with a few mods to get the output that our machine likes. I can E-mail it if you think it might be of use to you. [ 05-16-2002, 01:35 PM: Message edited by: Tim ]
  11. Beav700, I am sort of new to post MC post mods so I make a back-up copy of my .pst file before starting. Then I write down existing values & make 1 change at a time. Looking at my copy of MPFAN in the fmt section,(sorry I don't have my post editor from work so I can't turn on line numbers) the line you are looking for looks like: fmt A 11 cabs #C axis position The 11 in that line tells you to use the 11th format statement which is in the section that starts with fs and is as follows: fs2 11 0.3 0.3 #Decimal,abs,3place Change to: fs2 11 0.3 0.2 #Decimal,abs,2place If you change the 2nd 3 to a 2 it should then output 2place decimals instead of 3place. Recheck all "A" outputs after reposting the file to make sure that it affected the code the way you want it to. If not, return fs 11 to former value &look at other fmt lines that affect the output "A","B", or "C" codes. Good Luck, [ 02-12-2002, 10:44 PM: Message edited by: Tim ]
