  1. DBrianB, concepttool has..I think has it more or less summed. It comes down to what you need the CAM package to do for you. For us when WorkNC was purchased it processed 3D toolpaths approx. 10 to 1 but and was used mostly for electrode production (we did alot of processing and it came down to a dollar and cents thing). Mastercam has come along way in regards to processing time with alot of nice added features. What is your intended use of said CAM package??
  2. JMParis, John I don't need to be labeled and please don't get me wrong. I can be one on CNC softwares biggest critics but I will give credit when credit is due. Mastercam for me is not just about the software but everything such as this fourm, local and non-local support (the In-House guys up here are great. In the end it all about what got the job done at the end of the day. Mastercam hasn't always shined in every venue I've asked it to preform in but over all has got the job done everytime and I've made money doing it.
  3. Jeff, I've used both WorkNC and Mastercam since for the last 10 years and at a point in time WorkNC kicked the crap out of Mastercam for doing 3D work, but keep in mind you really didn't want to attemp to do any 2D work you had to lie to it like a cheap hooker. WorkNC has made alot of ground in CAD and 2 1/2D programming but they are learning it all on the back of such softwares as Mastercam. In my opinion Mastercam is the best all around CAM package (past and present).
  4. Chris, All the best! Thanks for all your help in the past. Keith
  5. Doug, Do you get more out of it if combined with Solids?
  6. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kudos to Dave and all the people at In_House for all they do. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Agreed!
  7. SAIPEM, All I have ever had is a Zip file that gets extracted into the root of where "mcamx" is located. Then set your control def to use the HTML setup sheet. This is what has been my experience if yours differs you may want to give Dave or Chris a call at In-House Solutions.
  8. The HTML_X Set-up sheet should still work in MR1. review your config and the control def. and that the html files are in the corresponding locations and you shold be good to go.
