  1. we use them for roughing CM-939 & FSX-414 all the time with 3" face mills 5 tooth .we go off the charts and run 6000rpm and 150ipm. thats were we get the best results.the parts are castings that we rough .machines are Haas VF-6 and VF-8 50 taper.
  2. program the taper then manualy input your z move at the end of it ex. G0 X.95 Z.1 G32 X1. Z-.75 F.062 Z-1. G0X1.2 this is how i do it and it works fine.
  3. i have three haas trunions here, one tr210 and two tr310 . they are A axis trunion and B axis is the platter rotation.
  4. I have a Haas post that only puts a diameter offset call at the first cutter comp line. i would like it to output on every g41 or g42 call up when i use wear comp.this has bit me more than once and want to fix it. any help would be appreciated , i can figure some things in posts but am by no means a guru.
  5. finaly got it , wether i did right or wrong i dont know. i extruded create body my cut geometry through the part i wanted to make second slice.then i did boolean remove. does this sound correct.
  6. i took a 2d part and revolved it to make a ring .now i am trying to slice the part using extrude cut. i did one cut and it worked fine now i am trying to make another cut and i keep getting "boolean remove operation would result in disjoint body" i am not experienced with solids but am trying to learn through trial and error. im sure its something simple you guys could help me with. mcx level 3 solids mr2
  7. danm , i program a vtl and turret is on the right but with mastercam the part is on the left. i thought the same as you that programing the part should be as you see it from the control but its not. any way i have got use to programing it this way. chuck
  8. i get same error as bruce so my ears are open
  9. smart dimension ,click on dimension ,hit H and change size , this is for version X
  10. thanks guys i just talked to our tech support and they got me rolling
  11. i have a block with a step i am trying to plunge mill and have created part into a solid . we have just recently upgraded to solids and mill 3 so all the toolpathing is new to me.how should i go about getting a 2 inch z-mill to machine this out. with wire frame i would create a bunch of points and use the drill function, but with our upgrade we shouldnt have to do this.i just dont know how.
  12. We are using X here . I went to V9 today and opened a file and within 5 minutes shut it down and realized i wanted to use VX because i was more fluent with it now. yeah it has some issues but i am sure they are working the bugs out. I am doing both lathe and mill programs here and all is working well.
  13. i am going to just edit the retract feeds to rapid in the nc. editor , thanks guys i appreciate your help .
  14. as soon as it rapids out it tells me i hit the stock. so would that be the next aproach?
