  1. I learnt to programme on a Okuma LS-N with an OSP2200L control, and then progressed to a LS-N with an OSP3000L. I really liked that control, and I did a custom post for it that supported LAP cycles, including the G86/G33 threading cycles.

I'm sure I have it archived somewhere around here.

The old MPLOSP supposedly worked, but from memory the format wasn't correct. I remember spending a bucketload of time on it ironing it out. Ahh...the memories of starting to learn about posts smile.gif

  2. Hi there

I've found something after installing V9.1. If I go into my parameter page in drilling, and choose the drop down list for the drill cycles (drill/counterbore, chip break, peck drill, fine bore etc etc) and choose, for example chip break or peck, the peck increment options, such as 1st peck, subsequent peck and retract amount, are greyed out. Basically, I only have the same options (those of drill/counterbore) for all the drilling cycles.

The O/S is WinXP. It does it after trying several different posts too.

I have a vague suspicion I'm missing something obvious here smile.gif

Anyone else struck this at all?

    Cheers,

    Mick

  3. Brent,

If I had a more complete library, I'd share it with you, but all I've added is a couple of profile boring bars using the VBMT insert :/

I keep meaning to update the library a bit more, but the old enemy time is always against me.

And the US catalogue has a quite a few tools in it that the rest of the world doesn't have. (I used to be a Sanvik rep, and we sometimes used to order stuff from the US catalogue to satisfy a particular need for a customer)

    Regards,

    Mick

  4. Rekd, you mean like, the operations manager is a seperate window, that allows access to Mastercam behind it? Yes, I'm all for that too...plenty of times I want to save, but have to quit the operations manager to do so...

I figure its wishful thinking too smile.gif

  5. I believe it is Windows NT, and yes, the Metacut Software was installed.

There was a brief error flashed on the screen when Solid Edge started, and was something to do with failure to find a license. The customer has both a network license, and a fixed license (they have several seats) but neither license works.

It is shaping up as a trip to their premises for me, by the looks of things smile.gif

  6. I just got some more information from the customer. Its seems the Solid Edge sim is a Sentinel, not a Hasp. So it maybe not a hasp driver issue. I did indeed get him to swap the locks, but its made no difference :/, but thanks for the suggestion.

Hehe...These kind of things only ever happen on a Friday afternoon smile.gif

  7. Our local reseller has just contacted me in regards to a problem that a local Mastercam user has encountered, and has asked me to try and sort it. It appears that they have installed V9.1, and as a result, when they try to run Solid Edge, it now doesn't run. They previously had V9 running alongside Solid Edge with no problems at all. According to the customer, their Solid Edge is using a Hasp as well, which indicates to me that there is a potential issue with the driver. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?

The customer is unfortunately in another town, so I'm doing this via phone.

    Regards,

    Mick

  8. James,

I certainly agree with the last one....I could read several books whilst processing some of the cavities I've dealt with lately smile.gif

Oh, and Z travel isn't normally the problem with me...its x..:/

    Hehe

    Mike

  9. I'll have to try 1)..I've never used it. But I can vouch for 2). I use it all the time. I've saved several operation "libraries" for different types of toolpaths that I do regularly, and just as James stated, I import the required operation(s) and then add the geometry, and regen. Very productive smile.gif

  10. Just out of interest, one product I found really useful for users of Unigraphics, was the UG CAST (Computer Assisted Self Teach) module. Its basically a bunch of training courses that you install along with UG. When you run the CAST program, it fires up UG, and UG runs with a panel down the side guiding you through the course. It was very good for getting new users trained on the software. It got me started on Unigraphics when I was a newbie. Its a pity I'm not a software developer, otherwise I'd do one for Mastercam smile.gif
