I think I recall being able to use point toolpaths to create toolpaths from point to point and being able to add coolant - spindle
and stops at different points and being
able to edit these commands and points later
but either I don't recall correctely or I just can't locate these in X2 - I see the point to
point creation but not the spindle - coolant commands
Thanks for the help

Could you use a chip break drill cycle with
a spade drill or a boring bar - us offsets
for depth cuts
-
The create point endpoints is in the create point
drop down menu

When using gridpock set the diameter to 80%
of the cutter whatever stepover you want to
use - you can set stock to leave so you dont
gouge the part boundries
-
I think you could create the code as a text file
and any time you needed it use manual entry
toolpath and choose the text file
-
There is a c-hook "gridpock.dll" that will create points in geometry - distances and patten can be specified
-
Blue styrafoam insulation is cheap and easy
to machine and holds pretty good shape -
easy to get at Home Depot too
-
If you put points in them you can use automatic
by picking the first hole second hole and then
the last hole

Draw a circle the size of the pipe

Trying to create mill cycle to select a dowell
pin and bring it to a location - then down to a
z location and stop - then use it for a part stop - tighten the vise - then back the pin away from the part and retract - Is this a macro or
a custom drill cycle or ?
Thanks for any advice

5) Allow changes to multiple operation defaults
ie: coolant - clearance - etc
6) Have a scale setting in analyze so that a
metric part could be analyzed in English
and English in Metric
7) Have automatic dual dimensioning in drafting
-
Contouring and pocketing are about the same
drilling can be different if they use drill
blocks - also nesting - engraving and tabs
-
OOPS - should read the instructions first -

I downloaded Direct Inventor. zip
This is not the right file?
-
Using X I downloaded the inventor conversion file unzipped it and ran install - but when I
try to open inventor files I get a message saying
inventor or viewer must be installed - I loaded
it 2 times and rebooted but still unable to convert files - probably overlooking something
but can't figure what - thanks for any help
-
Also the centerline of the part must be at 0
in the plane
EXTEND LINE SEGMENT OR ARC MCX

Actally I think it creates a new seperate line
attached to the old one - if you put a negative
number in to shorten the line it braeks the line at that length
