  1. I did not build the ones in the file, it was Trevors. I don't know what to make of this. I post out three hole locations in one drill op (the last in the program), all top plane. All in minus Y space. It looks as it should as far as hole locations. ( 1/4 DRILL TOOL - 1 DIA. OFF. - 1 LEN. - 1 DIA. - .25 ) M11 M13 T1 M6 G0 G54 G90 X-2. Y-2. B0. A0. S3667 M3 M10 M12 G43 H1 Z8. 2. A plane was set for each face Yes I tried the stock post the rotary moves are opposite of what they should be. I got those corrected now discover this x/y issue. I'm figuring that even if the 5 ax drill works then my x and y will still be off if I do 5 ax positional right? I will try the 5 axis drill thing later when I have time, never done that before though I'm new to the 5 axis world anything special to know or it it pretty intuitive?
  3. I got a rotary issue resolved, then discovered a new one I can't figure out Machine is a Haas Vf2, with a TR110 have a proven post, mach and control def so there should not be any issues here but there are I have a file with six drill points, one center, one on each side and one in the x-y- quadrant (the last hole listed in the code) The trunion platter sits 3.1" above the center of rotation, the geometry I have about 6.3" above center of rotation in the software The trunion table appears to be moving correctly (in real life) so far but the y axis looks reversed, tries to come down behind my trunion table (opposite side from the platter) also the last hole in the code...the one programmed from tplane =top if I post it alone I get this % O0001 ( PROGRAM - OP-1 ) ( DATE - 27-02-11 TIME - 21:35 ) G20 G0 G17 G40 G49 G80 G90 G0 G28 G91 Z0. LOL I know this is probably something simple but I have been banging away at this all day and just gotten nowhere. Any ideas appreciated. Dave
  4. I think I have the rotary direction thing figured out. It was MI10 that fixed it, set to "2", Trevors files had that correct for my machine too. Now it appears to be a Y axis issue as described right above your last post. Ever seen that?
  5. Trevor has helped me quite a bit. Still have a strange issue though. When I post the file he sent (which is a proven good file for the Haas TR machines) the code posts out, bringing the z axis down behind the trunnion table, far as I can tell the Y axis sign is reversed, should be a -, and is a + number I tried moving the trunnion model and geometry around to where my TR110 would sit and I get the same result. (the TR110 is the really small Haas trunion, it has the platter 3.1" above the tilt rotation zero) Anyone ever seen this before? Know what the fix is?
  6. Question *edit* OK I got it to work by changing the secondary axis misc value. Thanks for your help! funny changes to the post did not change output...is it locked or something?
  7. Ok Ill try those. Thanks for the help.
  8. Does anyone know how to reverse the direction of the A and B axis on the Haas 5 axis trunion post? I currently have it going away from the operator, needs to come toward me, rotation is wrong direction also. Could not find it digging through the machine or control def. Is it a post setting?
  9. Get mine from MSC, off the shelf stuff. Micro100 is the brand Ive used.
  10. Yeah I was looking for a canned cycle, G83. But you may be right about the post I have never modified it and it may not have it in there I do not do much post modding except by specific advice I get here. If it's not in the post no biggie I can live with long hand coded peck drilling
  11. How do I get rid of the "V" when a g28 is called? I get U, V, W as below. I just need U and W, the V is throwing an alarm. Using the standard fanuc 2 axis lathe post. ------------------- etc etc... G1 Z-.15 F.01 G0 Z.25 Z.5 M9 G28 U0. V0. W0. M05 T0200 M01
  12. In the drop down I select peck drill then set .1 initial and .1 subsequent. Post it....I get that output. The custom cycle stuff on the third tab is unchecked
  13. Yeah I checked the control def it's checked. The posted code for a peck drill cycle is in my first post there. Instead of a canned cycle I got "customizable drill cycle" as the output. I don't think my fanuc will understand that LOL Weird.
  14. Just got X5. My generic 2 axis lathe post used to work fine. Now with a peck drill cycle it outputs (SPOT TOOL .75 DIA.) G0 T0404 G97 S500 M03 G0 G54 X0. Z.25 CUSTOMIZABLE DRILL CYCLE X0. Z.25 G28 U0. W0. M05 Anyone know what is wrong? I ran the post update utility, seemed to go fine no error message.
  15. 1 2002 Daewoo 210LC (new addition) 1 2006 5 axis Haas vf2 (trunnion) all in a little garage hobby shop. sure its a little cramped but its not far to walk from the machines to the inspection dept or tool crib The saw and raw stock department is about 3 feet away from the main shop floor.
  16. Norton on my box did not pick up anything. Brand new too. iddn't dat funny. I used MC all last eve after I ran that "fix" and everything seems to be working fine. I have Norton set to not throw up warnings, just get rid of stuff without telling me so maybe that is what happened? Or...Norton sucks and my (computer) box is now dripping with internet syphilis. LOL
  17. Colin....you fixed it. Thank you very much! Thank you everyone for the help Dave

  19. Holy cow. I just did an uninstall and re-install...still does it.
  20. Well looks like I did copy my config folder. This was from mcam x4 to a new install on a new computer. I renamed my config file _bak but got errors mastercam .mtb not found, .kmg not found etc.
  21. Just tried a new file. Made a straight line, contour, save...crash. Damn. I did not copy my config file. But try do that anyway.
  22. No, it's my long time CAD folder. ...and save works, it just crashes the program.
  23. Using a new install of x4 and updated MR. Every time I save it crashes. I re open and I can save but as soon as I create a new tool path, it does it again, save= crash. Did a search did not come up with any thing. Know what could be the matter?
  24. wow, that was really stupid. Been using this software since 9.1 and I never noticed that before. I'll go back under my rock Thanks Hardmill
