  1. well, i got nipped by the surface grinder last thursday. The only thing is, our surface grinder wheel is fairly large about 15-20" dia. and a nip for it, is a hugh gash for me. I was laying my parts down on the table, and one of them, which just so happens to be the one closest to the wheel slipped out of my hand. And what happend next ended up cutting away some skin, and cut one of my tendons on my left hand middle knuckle. I've now got a bunch of stiches, and my hand is in a splint for 2-4 weeks, but man it could've been worse. I could of been wearing gloves and got my whole hand caught in it. I don't use a surface grinder much, but now I've learned an lesson. Also, i have a question do most of you make sure to have the grinding wheel off when loading your parts, even after you dressed the wheel, this may be a stupid question, but i'm still an appentice.
  2. Hi Bucket Head, I've never been to the Crystal Gardens. I suppose Victoria is the garden city of Canada as they say. I probably haven't been 5 minutes from Chris' work either. Any funny creatures around there?

  4. sorry, I reread your initial post, I see that you've done that.
  5. Hi, I looked at your file, and saved a file in the ftp as rotoryrev1. Is this what you wanted? I rotated the engraving to be able to see it in the Front Gview. Then I changed the t/c planes to Front View in your operations. Check it out. I hope it helps. Nick
  6. Hey guys thanks for the help, but I figured it out. I'm using a vf2 haas vmc. What i had to do was turn all the filter tolerances to the lowest they could go, as well as the Linearization, and max depth vari. tolerances to the lowest. As well, I had to figure out that when posting 3D toolpaths, I can't use cutter comp. offsets in the control, because it doesn't compute and leaves lines, or chatters. For some reason, I don't know. Maybe you guys know? But i got it fixed. Thanks anyways. Nick
  7. Hello. I have to cut out 6 slots, length wise, on a cylinder. The ends of the slots have a radius, and i'm having trouble with corner rounding the ends. To use the corner rounder I have to compensate for the diameter of the cylinder, so that it doesn't undercut the part. So i've drawn 3D contours, so the CR can follow that path up and over, and around etc..etc.... My problem is when i post the toolpath it changes every movement to small line segments. So when machining the sides of the slots it makes little x movements. Which doesn't really affect the finish, but when it machines the ends, the arc movements seem to leave lines on the finish, which don't look good. I've had this problem before, and what help it was adjusting the 'filter settings' and 'Linearization' tolerance, but this time it doesn't seem to do the trick. I have my 'rotary axis', Rotation Type on '3 Axis'. Is there anything in the post (mpmaster) that can help me? or is there something I'm missing. Please help if you can. Thanks Nick
  8. Hey, I just wanted to give the people that helped us last week a BIG thanks. It all worked out, but it was a lot less of a headache with you guys. I'm sorry if some of my questions might not of been fully thought through. Mastercam/programming is still a learning experience for us. Thanks Nick and Eric J.S. Foster Corp.
  9. Actually looking it over, it doesn't seem to be a toolchange problem. It just worked out that the first tool was my roughing cutter, and it didn't have to follow the radius corners on the rectangle. My finishing cutter, and corner rounders do however. So when it gets to cutting the corner radiuses of rectangle, it goes back to cutting them in line segments, with small X. and A.-axis movements. I guess the mpmaster isn't able to adjust for wrapped corner radiuses? nick
  10. Oh yeah, and it doesn't call up a inverse time g code for that feed either.
  11. The Mpmaster post is much better , although it calls up an outragous feed (1228.64in/min) while it does the A. movements. Is there a way of getting rid of the feed in the A. movement? Nick
  12. Hi, I work with Eric and he uses a Haas VF3 and VF2. We only have level one, of Mastercam 8.1.1 if this matters.
  13. How about: "who's your Daddy?....member" "man of the house" "daddy member". Or "the LARGEST member" or for you canadian hip hop fans."Swollen Member"
  14. WOW!!!! Didn't expect an answer so quick, thank you very much JAMMAN worked well
  15. Hi John, i just wanted to let you know that I'm using a Haas VF3 and in the settings, setting #44 there's an option for a - min F(feed) in radius cc %: I'm unsure if the VF2's have that option though, check it out.
