  1. I am working along doing the final tool paths on a project when MCX2 crashes... so Ok I reboot. I've been working with a custom tool that I had defined and been using in this project. In earlier op's I used this tool, back plotted it and everything looked good. Now after the crash I regen the tool path and my custom tool is a miniature of what it was just before the crash. What's up with this? [Head Scratch]
  2. Just got my new X2 mouse pad and it even came with a CD, install guide, transition guide and get'n started and a box to boot.
  3. Ok I didn't catch that, the view name and comment aren't showing up on mine either
  4. I've tried it every which way and it works here. The only thing I noticed in your post is the location of MCAMX2, in the program file, I've had problems in the past trying to install it there so now I let the install just install it on the C/Drive. I know it's not much but I can't see any other reason it shouldn't work for you.
  5. Pete I just tried it with what you have on the screen and everything worked fine,I tried a couple of different settings and it still worked, maybe you should try reinstalling it
  6. Just check mine again, I checked everythng and the only ones that show up are those are the clean op's. The dirty one don't come in.
  7. From what I can see in your post every thing looks correct. If you want more operations show you have to check them in the ops manger. Also you may have to rearrange things in Excel to see everything or to get it the way you want.
  8. "put my two cents in".. . but it's only a "penny for your thoughts" For the "sense' I've lost...No!
  9. I bring in dwg files from one of my customers, they set up specific levels for me which can be turned on or off while I do the toolpath, I’d say that everything is all ready one level when you get.
  10. Try in the operation manager, Machine Group- Properties >tool settings>edit should be able to do what you want there
  11. Takashi, Just tried your SaveVisable c-hook, it did what I wanted on the test, so my initial test worked great. I take small bits of geometry into Rhino from MCX2 to trim and this will eliminated the extra step of opening another MCX2 file and converting to an IGES. I keep playing with it and let you know how it progresses. Thanks again
  12. wildcat You can find the holder in McamX2>mill>tools, you can open the folder draw half of your tool holder, save it back in tools. Now when you back plot it will show your holder. I did it for my HSK, worked great
  13. Lee there's a patch for that 'Mastercam X2 Patch 1', the link is at the top of the forum page 1st post. I think it's supposed fix the problem your having
  14. Good point Lee, but tell you the true I just didn't think about it on the last post I started. I'll try and pay attention in the future.
  15. Guess I better drag out the cheese Thanks John that did it. thanks Dave and thank you gcode I'm going go have some humble pie for desert!
  16. Dave, I had found that setting and turned it off, earlier but I still get the F5 gcode, I unchecked " Adjust feedrate on arc moves" still get the F5 on on IJ moves
  17. Occasionally we cut MDF sheets which are all 2D contour cuts. This is the first time since installing X2 that we cut any MDF and I’m finding a Feed rate F5 on all my IJ moves. Would this be in the post or a setting in MCX2. Any ideas
  18. I'm not sure what your asking kunfuzed. I have multiple files of MCX2 open all the time, may run bit slower but I'll have at least two open all day. Works with that word processor program too.
  19. Lee, Step by step… This is for a boarder to use with a Scallop Toolpath; I create curves on surfaces, in this case one edge, next I project to flat plane Z-80, I Analyze chain, if it chains I use Create-Spline-Create Curves Spline, now I may use Xform-Xform Offset Contour (for the size of boarder I want) and then Spline again. When using boarders I like to use a single spline, easier selection; that said, I left these as curves and chaining worked fine in the Toolpath. I’ve done it this way for years and have never seen this problem until X2. Now that said, Colin I changed my spline creation type to Parametric and it worked. Switched it back to Nurbs (just to try it) and it was the same problem. So for now I’ll use that setting and also sent it to QT.
  20. Colin it's been a long time hows things at the big B. In config file 3D is checked, I'm not running "Entity Attributes manager". I've found it only doing on some of the curves I'm trying to convert to splines. I can't say definitely but it seems to be doing it with curves that are closed, ie when I'm trying to create a boarder. It worked on some curves I created on surface edges that were long curved shapes and not closed. Never had this problem before and I use a lot of boarders.
