  1. Hey Nick, If the coolant smell like urine, you may have an operator problem!
  2. Thanks Mark. Duh! I think I found a thread that will help.
  3. I would like to reverse post some code for font creation. Not sure how to do this in V9.1. Any help?
  4. How about creating an operation for each digit at the same location then just select the digit you need and post only that digit. This is assuming you will be engraving at the same position each time. Does this make sense?
  5. Hitachi HG1000 Horizontal. Chip evacuation ya know.
  6. How about this: 303 SST, 3" dia. 6fl shell mill, 600SF, .05 chip/ tooth .05 depth, 3" radial, pocket ramp contour, 229 ipm., dry. B.A.M.F. Sorry, trade secret!
  7. Same result for me but it also leaves a copy of one or more pieces of geometry at the previous location. Irritating!
  8. Scott, I believe Kitamura carries a bridge center that might be in your price range. Worth checking.
  9. We've been using the Vericut Interface for a couple of months now. It is a time saver but it has its drawbacks. It doesn't define radius cutters or special tools properly and if you are going to use some sort of cutter extension be sure to double check definitions before running. I have created a library where I store commonly used special tools which are ready for import. You can either bring them in as an impoted .DXF or define the tool and/or holder and save it to a file by the old copy and paste method. Experiment a bit to see what works best for you. Vericuts Help gives How To's on these topics. Hope this gave some direction.
  10. Try Reverse Path and Change Side. This also works when copying an operation which was chained from the opposite side of the part.
  11. Grant, I've already ordered the OSG drills. The company didn't want to spring for carbide drills. Do you have a baseline surface speed that you use? I'm drilling 7.2mm dia 35mm thru. Thanks in advance, Rick
  12. May main concern is drilling. I'm only making 2pcs but there is a total of 96 holes 90 of which are 1.5"dp. I plan on using SGS EX Gold jobbers and I my have a drop I ca do some test drilling on. I'm just looking for a start point. It will be run on a Quantum 1250 vertical.
  13. Does anyone have any info on machining characteristics of UNS S31803 (ES 2205) Stainless Per ASTM-A276? I have some metalergical properties but they're no help for speeds and feeds. Any help or resources would be appreciated.
  14. Thanks Jay and Ernie, Our dealer says we will need a custom post to do what we need to. Luckily, a colleague has the expertise to do this inhouse. We're going to see if we can get it going. Thanks for the tips and tricks. Rick
  15. Ernie, I'm not sure what you mean by "chain your own tool path". We will be working from solid models. Will we need geometry other than this? Nick, How about Shooters tomarrow at 3:30?
  16. Hello All, I'm looking for tips on right angle head work on large horizontal mills. IE: head definition for backplot/ verification and code output in the proper axis for drill cycles and mill work in full fourth ( axis. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  17. Thank you James. I'm fairly new to the forum and not to adept with the ins and outs.
  18. I'm NOT HAPPY . I have a file that is corrupting itself when backplotting. This is not the first time this has happened. I don't want to change the file from its current state. I want someone from Mastercam to look at it but it contains proprietary information so I can't post it on the FTP. However I can e-mail it to someone from CNC Software. Please e-mail me at [email protected] and I will reply.
  19. Roger, That was it. My oversight. I thought I had changed that in all our posts. Thanks for your time. Rick
  20. I'm profiling a part using Contour- Ramp. When posted the path is broken into small linear moves instead of a long move between end point with a single XYZ line. Consequently this program is too large to fit in the control, not to mention load time. Is this a result of a post setting or am I overlooking a Cfg setting. I looked at both and nothing jumped out at me. Can anyone give me a clue on this one? Thx, Rick
  21. Cadcam, I put on the FTP, in MC9 Files, called View Glitch.
  22. Cadcam, I didn't save the corrupt file. I exited MCAM and reopened my backup. I do have another program that this happened to and I can give that one to you so you can see the result.
