Does anyone know if there is a way to get the chuck jaw name from MasterCam into the active reports template? I've tried looking through the XML tag list and searching through the Samples in my setup sheets folder, but I'm unable to find this field. I'll post a screenshot of what text I need. Thanks!

Greetings all, I have developed a setup sheet that is really more of an Operation check list. Developed for minimal paper waste. It works with all three of the main program types without changing report templates: Mill, Lathe, and Mill/Turn. The operations are color coded: Blue is turning, Yellow is Milling, and red is Manual Entry. If the tools are named in Mastercam the way that I recommend, all of the information will be there for the operator: Insert codes, etc. Included in the zip file that is attached is a sample turning program with milling, the Active report templates, a Word doc with instructions on how to install and where to enter information. For best results, pay close attention to the Word doc on what and where I enter the names and comments of the tools and operations. Disclaimer: Use at your own risk. setup sheets Active Reports Designer VS X+ for Setup Sheets
Dave228 posted a topic in Industrial Forum
Hello, I finally took the plunge and learned how to use Active Reports Designer which comes with Mastercam. Originally I started using X+ for setup sheets. X+ isn't bad to use but it wasn't very easy to change the layout without knowing basic webpage design. Active Reports Designer is very easy to create a layout, even from scratch but it is cumbersome to learn the basics behind Active Reports Designer. Once you get the basics under your belt its not too bad to use and its definitely more powerful than X+. You can pull almost every parameter from a toolpath, work offsets, tools, you name it and it can probably be pulled into a report. Having said all that, I did actually enjoy creating my reports and made 3 different reports. 1st report is just for tools and meant to give the tool kit guy enough info to assemble the tools. 2nd report is for the setup/operator and has basic info so they can setup and know what the program does. 3rd report is an in depth report which includes things like all operations using a specific tool, all operations using a specific work offset, ect. . . Contact me to discuss having a custom report created. I will be happy to answer questions or tweak reports to your liking, THAT I CREATED FOR YOU. Sorry I don't have enough time to take on everyone's general tech support questions. I have included PDF files of my 3 reports to show the info captured. Can anyone tell me where the templates are for the setup sheets that come from active reports. I can find the editor but cannot find the premade template that mcx6 uses. I would like to see how it is put together and copy it to modify to what will suit my needs. I only need the lathe and mill templates for now. thanks, tony
