Mastercam 2018

Hello, i am used to using mastercam 2022, but the shop i work at now only have 2018

in 2022, i can get a clean 3 axis toolpath around some part using unified. i am using 2 guide curves and just 1 machining surface and get good results.

what toolpath may i use in 2018 to get good results.

There should be a couple of ways to replicate it.  In 3 axis toolpaths, you can try doing an Equal Scallop toolpath, and choose the same 3 curves (labelled "Curves" on the Toolpath Control page). 

In Multiaxis paths, you should get nearly the same results if you choose Parallel to Curve, and choose all 3 curves.  The real trick here is that you have to go the cut parameters > advance page and switch it to "exact" mode.

That "Exact" option is a lifesaver, once you know it is there, and what it does!!!

Aaron your always a huge help! Hope everything's going well with your shop and consultant services! your a great asset to the mastercam community and I hope you know how much many of us respect your knowledge of the software and machining in general!

Everything's going great over here.  I had a successful first year at it, and it's launched me into a swamped (in a good way!) second year I hope everything is going well with you too, mate.  You're absolutely an amazing contributor to the art and your responses are always so well thought out!

glad your staying busy, i figured with your quality of work and knowledge that you would stay very busy so that's good to hear, thx everything's going pretty well over here too and seems like the year is starting out on a great foot forward.
