Hybrid toolpath

I need help with this toolpath. I assume it should have a larger step down on the steep areas and a smaller step over on the shallow areas. Look at the pic. Im getting strange results. I would go to my reseller if they would call me back.

Can you upload a MCAM file? That would help us solve your issue, like crazy fast!

When you run these toolpaths through Mastercam’s verify, do you see gouging or large scallops?

Flowline is still one of the best for non complex surfacing. I have run in to this with hybrid and had ONE stepover too big at the transition and not able to get rid of it. Probably operator error though.

I have recently had a part that I programmed in MC2023 using a hybrid tool path and it would not produce the varied step over between steep and shallow. Opened same part in MC2024 and refreshed the operation and came out perfect !!

yeah, I just did a part in 2023 and I absolutely couldn't get the 3d hs scallop rest passes to work, so I went back to the Surface Finish Leftover which did it fine. But as I get ready to move up to 2024, I've done some tests, and surprisingly, it did the scallop rest passes correctly on the same part...
