opening imorted file always lathe???

I hope I can word this in a way that its understood... How come when I open a Mc9 file that has been downloaded from FTP site(or web sites) it always opens in MC lathe. Here's an example, I downloaded the WCS tutorial with the examples. I Unzip it, click on the samples and MC lathe opens. Why are file coming in as lathes when I know they are mill?

Right click the file in windows explorer and select 'Open with...'. You can the pick MC Mill and tell to always use that.

Now if you could just double click on a file,and mastercam was smart enought to distinguish whether it was created in mill or lathe is something I'm hoping for in V10!!

My Computer, View, Folder Options, File Types. Scorrl down to "Mastercam Part File", pick it, Edit, select Open, Edit, and there is says the "Application usee to perform action:" change Lathe9.exe to Mill9.exe. OK, Close, and OK.

there is no VX, that is a competitive product!

 

It is Mastercam X or Version X.

VX should not be considered a competitor in my book. They are no where close to MasterCAM.
