Dual monitors

gcode posted links to two great Dell displays. For what it's worth, a friend just purchased two Samsung 940BW FPs (flat panels) at OfficeMax - 19" displays for something like $200 (with INSTANT rebate). They are letterbox format (wide) and the color/contrast/brightness is unbeatable for the money. Samsung has some pretty amazing deals on FPs and TVs for that matter. Check 'em out.

Here's a link link to a page of LCDs from OfficeMax.

NOTE: The image for the 940BW shows a silver enclosure as opposed to the black you normally see. Someone told me about a hardcore gaming article that said silver is easier on the eyes so you may also want to consider that when you are looking for your next FP. I guess that assumes you are not using a black background though - otherwise black would probably be better. Good luck and let us know what you go with.

NOTE2: Has anyone seen the new Gateway 21" FP that rotates 90 deg? Saw them at Best Buy a few weeks ago. Pretty cool - for $500. Just like the old Radius monitors from the early 90s.

OK, we have 5 PC's in our office. Four of them have dual Dell 24" widescreen's. Two PC's are Dell Precision 380 work stations with 3.2 gig dual core CPU's, Quadro FX 3450 video cards, 2gig RAM, dual Raptor HD's in RAID 0. The others are 3.6 and 3.0 gig CPU's, simular RAM, lesser Quadro video cards and SCSI HD's. We tried a Quadro FX 1100 but it isn't dual link DVI capable and wouldn't drive these monitors. Otherwise this has been a fantastic setup.
