Dear Mastercam Post Experts!!!

The DOS based Servo Control that we use must have an E instead of an F command to control the Z axis feedrate for ALL drilling cycles. What changes in the post will

incorporate a logic switch that will output the normal F command for all NON-drilling X, Y, & Z feedrates and yet generate the necessary E command for the Drilling cycles?

Drilling uses a different variable for the feedrate so this is easy.

frplunge is the variable for drilling

fr is the variable for the rest.

The changes you need to make depends on what post you are currently using. If you are using MPFAN from V8 the variable "feed" is used for everything. So it will be a bit of work.

May I add:

When you want to differentiate between operations (such as between Milling and Drilling), an easy way to do is to use variable "opcode".

In Mill, opcode 3 is for drilling operation. So in your case you can do something like this:

if opcode = 3, ......

else,......

Ooops, misspelled a word : )

Remember kids, when using "else", you MUST follow with a comma. Anybody tried "MPLFAN" in V8.1 right out of the box? eek.gifDOH!!!!! eek.gif

ROFL!!!! When it comes to post processors, the devil is definitely in the details.
