Lathe canned problem

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am getting an erroe mesage:

Canned finish profile does not match canned rough profile. Pattern recall is not possible.

I am using MC 9 all latest updates. This comming up with all post proceesors, I thought it was a post problem. The only time I don't get it is when I use the exact same tool for rough and finish cycle. Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks

Hi

I think I figured it out. You can not use the plunge parameters in canned rough, because that option is not on canned finish tool path. I don't understand why if its on the rough it should be on the finish cycle as well. Maybe someone could verify that this is whats causing the problem?

Thanks

I did the something as JG

Different plunge cut parameter, different radius, and different insert (80deg for roughing & 35deg for finish)

It works fine no error

(If you use an 80deg insert and set your plunge cut parameter to no plunging allowed and try to finish with a 35deg insert even do the insert might have clearance to do an under cut

The tool will follow the no plunging allowed profile from the roughing pass.)
