I am running on windows 2000 Am using Mastercam Mill Version 9.0SP1

When I start Mastercam there is no error message it just starts like always but the background is still just black?

 

"exactly in your registry are you entering it"

 

I am entering it here:

 

1. run regedit

2. My Computer HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE CNC Software, Inc. V9 Mill

3. I left clicked on V9 Mill folder

4. right clicked in the window on the left side

5. click new string value and named it logo

6. double clicked on logo entered

"C:Documents and SettingsesalsmanDesktoptest.bmp" in the value data area

7. closed it then opened mc9...just black?

 

This is all over my head so any help would be appreciated.

Question... at start up how does mastercam know to load the logo as background?

logo and wallpaper are standard mastercam registry strings meant for setting background since ver8.

 

Although in your case the procedure you have specified seems quite perfect. And since it is not giving any error at startup that means it has excepted the path. Try to rotate the scene with alt+ arrowsor rename "logo" string with "wallpaper" please give feedback after trying this.

I have tried rotating and renaming "logo" as "wallpaper" neither made a difference.

 

I was wondering if you might have a bmp file that has worked for you in the past that I could try? This way I could rule problem with my bmp file out.

That's strange. I have tried it with different image on different plateform, never had much problem.

BTW you can select above image of mastercam text being machined. Just right click on it and copy it to your pc. Its' a jpg, do a save as in mspaint as .bmp You should be able to use it then.

Glad to help eric.

I guess in windows 2000 with user other than administrator you have to edit current user.

Well hope this method will be very much helpfull in using images in mastercam.
