Cutter Comp

Somebody decided that a term that in contour is "in control" + "in computer", (which many will say it is "Both", is defined in pocket as "Wear").

Those who believe in God, would say "only God knows why". Only CNC knows why the same thing is described in different ways in different places.

So the arithmetic is:

In computer + in control = WEAR.

They probably meant "weird".

What i mean is this:

In --COMPUTER-- in can set tool to left, right or center as related to the geometry.

in --CONTROL-- I can force a G41-G43 in the code at the control.

I /we can choose BOTH parameters in CONTOUR toolpath in MC.

I /we can choose only ONE in POCKET.

I understand that in a contour toolpath that you don't typically, if ever, cross the driving geomtry line with your tool. You all ways stay on the same side.(or on the center). A Contour only has containment geometry on one side of the tool.

This is a little different in pocket toolpath. Wherin you generally pick an outside geometry and an island. This creates containment geometry on both sides of the tool.

Is this why you only get one choice in POCKET?

Im not concerned about the WEAR option. I only listed it to be thorough.

Well so you know that pocket routines dose not have cutter comp.

The comp you see is on the last page that only comes in on the finish passes at the end of the pocket tool path.

You do not have the option of 41-42 in the pocket routines.

If you do not run the finish pocket finish routine that is stated on the last page of the pocket routines you do not have an option.
