  1. Jay, I'm sorry, I was too busy. After returning to "mastercam forum" I can't again see nothing inside it. I didn't have the chance to try Netscape again. Let's do it some other time, or you can renamae to avoid spaces. Have a nice Weekend.
  2. I tried it with some old "ftp works". The 15 minutes ran out before I had the chance to try netscape. But I think avoiding spaces will help a lot.
  3. BINGO. I was able to enter and see all forders. Then, in the folders with "one word" name I could see the files. The folders with spaces are still cold white snow.
  4. Only if I'll try very hard... and maybe with some help of my friends The current answer is NO, I can't. Jay, Let's try it. Please create a new folder "Mc_Forum" or any other name you decide. Put few files there and let me know. I'll try it out. (That's one time test, free of charge )
  5. I don't remember. No. Yes. Just now tried the Upload. See one file there.
  6. Webby, seems that we are waiting for your approval. Jay, regarding your questions: "May I ask why you think this the culprit?" The answer to the first question is: Yes, you may. The answer to the second question is: I managed to open some sub directories on your ftp and see files there. When I opened the "Mastercam Forum", I sow tombe la neige. Since this happened more than once, I went to weather.com and realized that there is no snow in your area. So I figured out that the white page that I see is probably not snow. Then I tried to use some more logic and decided to ask you to try it out. Hope this helps [ 02-22-2002, 11:04 AM: Message edited by: yenkls ]
  7. IMHO, We have to Encourage Netscape. Microsoft is not the only ruler. Jay, I think the only problem is using a BLANK (%20) in the folder or file name. Could you please change that to Underscore (_) or any "normal" character? I think this will enable all the other FTP programs to function properly and will solve a lot of us the PITA. Thanks [ 02-21-2002, 05:46 PM: Message edited by: yenkls ]

    HP

My experience: Hp are very good machines. Their drivers are awful. Their support is the worst of the worst.
  9. Try File/Convert/Iges/Write file. Exit Mastercam. Run Mastercam again and first thing do File/Convert/Iges/Read file. Save it and check the size. Sometimes if there are "bad" entities, Mastercam doesn't write them out to the Iges file. Instead of Iges, you can try another converter.
  10. Remember the good times of DOS? A simple batch file can do the job even today. Create a John_smith.bat file like this for each user: del mill8_cfg.bac ren mill8.cfg mill8_cfg.bac copy John_smith.cfg mill8.cfg mill8 exit Also each user has to have his John_smith.cfg file, which will be copied instead of Mill8.cfg. To polish it up, you can create a shortcut for each of the users (.bat file), even have his photo as the icon
  11. Since no one has responded, I decided to help you out with the following hint: The Canon Furlong is also recognizable on Saturn as one degree of its circumference in miles, expressed on Earth in feet as: 236617.2 / 360 = 657.27 This number is now taken as feet to the Canon furlong. The Canon furlong is exactly 200 meters or 1/8th of a Canon Mile. The furlong times 20,000 it is the number of feet in the circumference of the Earth. Source
  12. Michael, You can find it under rough contour parameters, and finish contour parameters. I'm not sure why it is being "hidden", so maybe it is available somewhere else
  13. PDG, This may work sometimes, but in many cases the result will be the familiar message regarding the "this would result in a disjoint body"... Another way: DO a rough pocket with a small cutter on the original part. Then create a surface contour restmill on your second part. The restmill toolpath will show you the differences. You may need to do it again reversed: the original toolpath on the second part and the restmill on the fisrt part. Just another idea.
  14. Seems neglected, like somebody started to do the macro stuff, but then didn't know how to continue. It looks as an unfinished issue, and therefore almost not useful. Just my feelings.
  15. LutherHeggs, You keep yelling for what you think is right or fair. Instead, please try to think and reply to what other people have posted. For instance, try to think, and only then post an intelligent reply to MATSSMan's thread. Can you do it boy? Let's see you.
  16. Somebody decided that a term that in contour is "in control" + "in computer", (which many will say it is "Both", is defined in pocket as "Wear"). Those who believe in God, would say "only God knows why". Only CNC knows why the same thing is described in different ways in different places. So the arithmetic is: In computer + in control = WEAR. They probably meant "weird".
  17. MATSSMan, Well said. This were my feelings and you have put it real nice. There are some kids here that hopefully will understand it some day....
  18. awheeler, What do you know about Nazis? What does that have to do with Mastercam's forum? You are a shame to mankind.
  19. I agree that this forum or any public forum is not the right place to "judge" resellers or anybody else. We, "members of the forum", are not a court. If a reseller is not "fulfilling" a specific user's expectations, it doesn't mean he is in general a "bad supporter". If a customer feels like complaining, he should contact his vendor or CNC and not spread his bad fillings publicly. Well done (Web)Master.
  20. I think that what Gstephens describes is what Elad wishes to have, but it is clumsy long way to achieve. It would be nice to have all this steps available in one click. This can be achieved with a proper "Macro". I haven't tried it and I doubt if Mastercam's macro can do. btw, using the term "Isomentric" is confusing. Yenkl
  21. I think the simplest way would be to scale all entities by 1/25.4 (.039370078... if you like). one inch is usually 25.4 mm have fun, Yenkl
  22. Mikee, To the best of my knowledge, although Solidworks is in general a good product, it has nothing to do with mold design. In Mastercam we can at least easily find the parting line, while SolidWorks hasn't even this ability. Have a nice weekend.
  23. I would recommend CNC to try to be more consistent with "normal" and familiar user interface. I think, probably as most of you do, that they should have used the 'escape' key, even if Simtech would not had the chance to bring up that tip
  24. This is what happens when they "give" you things for free. By the way chuck, which version of Mastercam is it? I will not be surprised if it is a very old one, maybe even a Dos version. And if so, probably the control is also quite an old pc model. The best way now is to contact your local mastercam reseller. They may offer you training and special terms for updates or upgrades.
  25. To the best of my knowledge: You can edit "notes" created by create/drafting/notes. You cannot edit "letters" created by create/next menu/ letters.
