I have just installed masterCam Ver 8.1 on a new gateway computer.

computer specs:

Pentium 4 3 GHz

1GB RAM

Windows XP OS

Video card: Intel 82915G express chipset

I have MasterCam and PRO-E Wildfire as the only programs installed on the comp.

The problem is that mastercam runs extremely slowly. It takes close to 5 mins to load up a file and the computer jams up peroiodically. Does anyone have an idea whats going on

Do you think you have a Spyware issue?

Has your PC ever been used to surf or download anything especially freware, pics or games on the net?

Get a copy of Counterspy IMHO it is reccomended by Dell and has worked wonders for my systems at home and at work,

If you have a new system you might have a hardware issue,

Good luck

Registering an .OCX File

In v8 or v9 If a customer is having trouble opening the Level Manager dialog box, or is having trouble with File, Get or File, Save, it may be necessary to register the .OCX files.

1. Go to Start, Programs, Mastercam 9, CNCReg.

2. Go to the second dialog box tab called ActiveX/DLL Components.

3. Look for the following four .OCX files:

Mcbitmap.ocx

Mcint.ocx

Mclstctl.ocx

Mcreal.ocx

4. Select each .OCX file, click on Register control and choose Apply. You must repeat this step for each of the four files.

If the customer is still having problems, it may be due to the File Get Dialog setting. You can set this option to either Standard Windows or Mastercam. The Mastercam option allows you to save thumbnail images of the part. To fix the problem:

1. Select the Registry settings dialog box tab.

2. Change the File Get Dialog option to Standard Windows.

It should be noted that v8 behaves a little differently the ocx files may be in the mcam8 dir.
