  1. x2 mr2 has a nice thread milling cycle you dont even have to draw the helix just fill in the information on pitch ,clearance , feeds and entry exit,, top to bottom ,, Do some testing with this cycle use the verify try it in soft material first,, then go for it you can set clean up passes and many more things It works great for us,,
  2. Now really what is the use of having a 7500 or 10k spindle if you cant put the pedal to the metal?? ,, so to speak... Best of luck to ya Wally
  3. I have been using X and upgrading all our older frequent use 9 files to X .. It definitely is not something that you can just sit down at and expect to not feel a bit lost,, After awhile things begin to make more sense,, like the Geo selection toggle, and confirm "Configure or customize" the right mouse button for some of your more frequent functions and you don't spend as much time looking for icons,,, My first impression of X was what the #)*&$*) is this,?? Now I like it
  4. Thanks for the input guys,, the most important thing to know when shopping is the right questions to ask. I knew I could count on some good info from the posters here..
  5. Hi Guys,, I have been busy for a while and have not been reading any forum posts recently but, I would like some input from the resident gurus.. On a new Haas VMC VF3 SS Any problems that anyone knows about on these mills? Spindle runs 12000 RPM so I may have to look at balanced tooling,, and a balancer as well,,,If I stay under 10000 I could just get a VF4 instead..or TSC... so many options and never enough $$ to spend on em. Most every thing we do is aluminum extrusion or 6061 billet Ez MoNe I know,, Any and all comments for or against the VF3ss will be appreciated we have a limited budget and I need to make the right choice the first time... I have had Exellent luck with Haas and dont have many reservations on getting a new one. Since the VF3SS series is a fairly recent offering I just am looking for some opinions.. Thanks again Wally
  6. Spend time with the lead in and lead out options there are alot of things that you can do with that page ex= overlap.. speed up transitions etc. Start at a point. It is a good page to practice with ,, GLTY
  7. Thanks for all your replys and humor .. I will have alot of reading to do,, Lol
  8. Hi Guys,, been a while since I have posted here and I would like to know if a detailed manual for writing and modifying postprocessors exists, I would like to be able to tweak them now and then,, Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, Wally
  9. I am using the X+ ulil toolbar and have had no such problems,, I have not had 10 lock up on me at all except during an failed program transmit X+ works good IMHO and to my knowledge has not had any negative effects on X. GLTY Wally
  10. I might add that the 1.875 drill was coolant thru and was the reason I used it to go 4" deep on a G73 cycle.. trying not to confuse Wally
  11. I have used the G73 function to increase my ability to use a large insert drill in a machine that may not have the ability to push it straight thru the material ,, 1.875 drill in p-20 thru 4" with a .005 G73 and minimal retract in the control like .003 in a Hass it had the effect of thinning the chip to make it break easier not balling up arround the drill and giving the machine time to stay on top of the chipload. My 2 c worth ... Lol G73 is a very useful cycle for drilling shallow holes quickly.. little time spent retracting more time spent cutting Wally
  12. What gives with the Toolpath associativity and operation regen ability in 10? If I have a circle broken into arcs and change the dia of the circle by offsetting contour in 10 It will not regen without re-selecting "chaining " the geometry,,, a huge time waste. In 9 it remembers where the operation geometry and usually regens with little to no problem, perhaps reverse toolpath or change sides on a transform rotate. Now if the circle remains unbroken it retains the info to properly regen the item.. I can get arround this by arranging the post to always break arcs ,, herin lies my problem The shop I work at is used to always breaking the arcs that they contour as a matter of habit,, Is breaking this habit the only way to retain the circle operation regen-ability? Lol It would seem so ,, Thanks sorry for any spelling errors that are above as I am in a hurry " no excuse I know " Wally
  13. How do you set up the x+ setup sheed to give you a good screen shot of the part? I keep getting part of my toolbars in the file that is created. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks Wally
  14. I have been having some difficulty printing a graphic file from MCx as well .. I can print from V9 but the same printer on the same computer will not print a file hardcopy in V10. Printer is a HP Lazerjet 5I and we have W2000 Pro operating sys. New Driver? seems wild that it works on 9 and not 10 Any suggestions? Thanks Wally
  15. There is another post avail in the same location as the MPmaster.. it is the Mpsubrep you can try that but you still have to set the switches inside the Post for your control,, Ex Break arcs, stage tools, IJK or R , and location of your posted NC files.... I will check back to see if you are having any luck.. Wally
  16. Hi , it looks like it wants you to delete the aster "*" before the letter,,, try it.. Save a backup copy before changing anything.. # If you do NOT want to force out the I,J,K values, # remove the "*" asterisks on the *i, *j, *k 's below... if plane$ = zero, iout, jout, kout #XY plane code - G17 if plane$ = one, iout, jout, kout #YZ plane code - G19 if plane$ = two, iout, jout, kout #XZ plane code - G18 GLTY Wally
  17. Hi We have 2 older Dawoo VMC with FANUC 21m's they use the older T=H=D+30 I want the combigned offset page T=H=D with the wear on the same page. Does anyone know the parameter#code to change the offset page to T=H=D ? We have 2 newer machines that are set up the more logical way and I am trying to get everything set up the same, Thanks Wally
  18. Check out an IJK cycle G73 in your machines Manual for the variable definitions I=Should be Initial Peck J=Peck reducing value K=Min Peck.. If you have coolant thru tooling even better. Double check this before running with your Manual Variables Jak
  19. I have one and like it for the most part except for the leaks,, I have some questions on getting it to accept Sub programs,, Possibly not enabled in the control I want to know how to get notes(xxx) in the program to show up on the screen " on an old matsura the note used to flash on the screen for the operator to see " it was helpful Thanks for the help
  20. Thanks for the help , I still have the entries show up in Double quotes Ex, (M00 (oil tap )); = Wierd I of course need M00 (xxxxx); Ron must be trying to send me in the right direction with 1006 ,, Now what exactly is that? Lol Thanks for the help

  22. Hi I don't post here much but I appreciate all the info that is posted, Quick question: How do you add manual commands M0 or extra M commands turn off chip conveyor, etc in the operations list with the program? I have a 2004 Cin V-CNC-750 anyone else use this machine? it has a Fanuc 21I control. I don't want to edit programs manually unless necessary.
