Custom tool file

Could anyone tell me how to create a custom tool file? I can't quite figure it out .

Have you read the Help file within MC?

Under the help section in MC search for Custom Tool it goes into Lathe tooling and Mill custom profile Tooling.

If you have read it what exactly are you stuck on?

Be sure to read about tool definition within the .mc9 (good for specials). And separate files (good for tools used on multiple jobs.

Open the tool .mc9 in mastercam copy it to the tool name that you want for the custom tool. Then you select that tool file as the tool to use when selecting your tool and then make sure you have custom as the selection on the tool as well. The thing is pay attention to the factor the tool uses. I have had to make it very custom to give 100% true tool so watch what you make it really what you get.

I folowed what it said in the help section and did what Millman told me and it worked great.
