We have have a spindle go out that is our z axis. We have 2 spindles on the machine and we are using the w spindle until we can change out the z one. i have found and fixed the post to turn on the w spindle but i am having problems changing the z in the to post to a w. i have gotten alot of good info on here in the past so i was hoping that this would be a good place to start.

did you try the formatting section of the post ??

ie

# Axis output formats - Linear

# --------------------------------------------------------------------------

fmt X 1 x # X Axis Pos ******

fmt Y 1 y # Y Axis Pos ******

fmt W 1 z # Z Axis Pos @@@@@

fmt X 1 xr # X Rapid Pos ******

fmt Y 1 yr # Y Rapid Pos ******

fmt W 1 zr # Z Rapid Pos @@@@@

fmt X 1 subrapx # Recall Sub Rapid X ******

fmt Y 1 subrapy # Recall Sub Rapid Y ******

fmt W 1 subrapz # Recall Sub Rapid Z @@@@@

fmt X 1 xh # X Home Pos ******

fmt Y 1 yh # Y Home Pos ******

Mill it,

If you want to change all Z moves to W moves, Here is what I would do:

Find these lines in your post:

---------------------

fmt Z 2 zabs #Z position output

fmt Z 3 zinc #Z position output

fmt Z 2 zdrl #Depth of drill point

---------------------

And change them to:

---------------------

fmt W 2 zabs #Z position output

fmt W 3 zinc #Z position output

fmt W 2 zdrl #Depth of drill point

---------------------

Hope that helps,

Martin
