I agree. Roll tap if at all possible. You get more holes per tap and no chips in the holes !!

If you already drilled the holes for a standard tap, guess what. they are not big enough for a roll 2-56 tap.

Now one question, are these holes for helicoils? eek.gif Havent seen a roll tap for helicoils. Call a local tool vender

Otherwise running a bottom tap in 1500 holes is asking for a broken tap. In chassies we always ran a roll tap or use as machine tap then a bottom tap. You got to get the chips out for the the second tap. We also had a pnumatic tapping machine to do this.What a time saver.
