Kathy, I did what Keith talked about in our haas post. the code looks like this : pcomment # Manual Entry - COMMENTS (on a block by itself) 1005,1006 if gcode=1005, pcomment1 # Manual Entry Comment - 1005 - Codes if gcode=1006, pcomment2 # Manual Entry Comment - 1006 - Comments if gcode=1007, pcomment3 # Define comment with output line if gcode=1008, pcomment2 # Define NC parameter comment - Operation comments pcomment1 # Manual Entry - Codes - Without brackets scomm = ucase (scomm) if sav_spc = zero, n, "", scomm else, n, " ", scomm pcomment2 # Manual Entry - Comments - With brackets and sequence number scomm = ucase (scomm) n, "(", scomm, ")" Use Manual entry and create a txt file to add whatever info you need. I save the file and use the one i need. Just remember which box to ck in manual entry, 1005 or 1006. mikee
  2. Look at the top of this page where it says "BOOKS" Mikee
  3. The cableing is always a big problem. We did a whole setup for dnc from : http://www.shopfloorautomations.com/ Never had a problem with this setup and we are going 150 ft in cable length on 2 machines, both Haas Mills Mikee
  4. China, China China, FIrst you take our jobs away and pay nothing for the workers doing the work. Then you are the biggest software hacker in the world. whats next ??????? Mikee
  5. Dan Change 33 to Haas Run a test , but do it high Iam looking for the ver of software in the machine It should be 10.xx (10.35 or so) Need to know the # When you boot the machine it will tell you I will call my rep monday. Mikee
  6. Dan Where are you setting tools, above or below your work coodinate ? Ive heard of this before at our dealer. I need to know I have no problem here with our two Haas mills. Mikee
  7. Jan '56 for me Been machining since '74 Mike
  8. A friend of mine working in a job shop doing Raytheon work told me the big boss came around to about half the shop with this: " You leave the machines dirty, end mills are being left out, Iam cutting your pay from $22 to $18. (I think the job shops are low balling to get work myself) Nice new years present Mikee
  9. It sounds like a 850 or 1200 control the v8 post mpl850sx maybe? some mods might be needed Just a guess Mikee

  11. Phase-o- matic has a cnc setup All legs are within 5 % with this setup. Works great. On a cnc you use 1.5 times the biggest motor HP(usually the spindle)output. There are other places to get them but FAR more expensive!!! Mikee
  12. Grease fittings in 8 places. That takes care of the 3 ballscrews and the linear guides on all axis. With the high speed machining turned on ( an option on all Haas's now) it will do 80 ipm. Its very smooth. I did a test with and without the hsm. 30 ipm without. 80 ipm turned on. That was a simple 3d part. 200 ipm rapids This one has a toolchanger. Sweeeet The visual quickcode would do your circles. Thats built in. Mikee
  13. Paul, I use a Haas Toolroom Mill. It might be overkill, it the size ot a series 2 bridgeport. Just to give you a idea, this machine can run 80 ipm (with the high feed turned on)and not miss a beat. The limit is the 4000 rpm spindle. No oil used to lube this machine, just grease it Look at no options, except a floppy. And you could use it for something else after its done in the clean room. Mikee
  14. Threpres is right. G90 was active G28 also cancels TLO but its called in g91 mode so the quill went to machine home. From looking at the file the tool would not have crashed, it just that the machine was running at 350 ipm when the tool was done. I guess high feed rates and then going into rapid take a little time to get used to. The part was only 4 in sq. but "z" was moving at a nice clip. The clearance plane was only .25 above the part, and the part was being roughed in 3d. Ok so Iam the dummy, but I like to g91 g28 zo not g49. Safty I guess. MIkee
  15. As a lot of us are starting to cut our teeth with high seed machining, I came across a program that has now been updated to help with all those speeds and feeds. It covers a lot of ferious and non ferious metals and allows one to add more as needed. There is also a lot of extra info besides. This pgm will run along side Mastercam. I only bring this up as older posts have asked about this kind of help, so I just pass the info along. The evaluation copy is found here :http://www.shopfloorautomations.com/ Its called "Machinist Toolbox" Mikee
