tapered pocket

Hey guys I have a question that may seem stupid but I need to know. If I draw a circle @ 1.735 dia. and do a pocket 1.85 deep @ 3 deg. tapered sides is Mastercam going to cut the 1.735 dia. at the top of the hole or the bottom of the hole?

Tommy teh never done taper pocket before..

If the geo you pick is at the top then that is the 1.735.

 

If you pick the geo at depth then it is 1.735

I propose when selecting the tapered pocket switch, Mcam should flash strobes, ring bells, blow horns, and shoot flares reminding you that pocket size is AT SELECTED DEPTH. Your pocket could [will] actually violate the chained geo anywhere Z+ of your chain.

 

Of course I only speak from experience.
