Post for Haas Lathe HL-2

The post I have does not post out the correct spindle speeds that I set up in my tools. So far the feeds have been correct but the spindle speeds are not like I have them set. Is there somewhere else that the post could be reading to get the spindle speed from other than the tool? I do have "from Tool" checked in the Job set up screen. Also the post does not have any spaces in between the numbers and it is hard to read. I got this post from a friend and he uses it on his HL but he did say it wasn't perfect and still needed a little work. I don't know much about editing post so does anyone have a good post that they would be willing to share?

It would be helpful to know what the basis of the post that you are using is.....

However, for spaces between codes you are looking for a line like:

spaces : 1 #No. of spaces to add between fields

Or a variables like: sav_spc and spaces

Your reseller should be able to fix you up with a post that is very close to your needs and can also get you the definitive CDROM on post editing.

When you define spindle RPM as CSF (constant surface feet), the post looks at the X value

of the first rapid move and figures out the correct RPM.

It outputs that RPM as it rapid to that point.

Then it outputs the CCS you set in your file.

If you don't like it that way, there is a switch

to turn it off.

Read the first couple of pages of the post.

You'll find the switch and learn a lot while you're looking
