Hasp not found

I accidently unplugged the hard drive yesterday whhile installing a new graphics card and not my white hasp doesn't work. CNC said it may be the port on the computer, because the sim work on another computer. It doesnt seem that the port would go bad.

Aerotech,

Did you ckeck on the bios level for the port being enabled/disabled after installing the new hard drive ? It may have set everything back to the defaults for some reason. I know when you get going trying different stuff you can make a change that you didn't really want. And don't know until later that the change would affect something else.

how do you check the bios?

Make sure you did not accidentally unplug the cable that connects this port to the motherboard. Some are hard soldered but alot of them still have a a flat cable similar to your floppy drive that plugs into the MB.

The port is soldered. It is like the port isn't there, but I dont have any other device to make sure it is working.

A parallel printer? Another known-to-be-working HASP? Parallel ZIP drive? Anything?
