Chain extruding

In Tutorial 6 of the Mastercam "Solids Training Tutorials V9" when we go to extrude the chin in step 38, it says that the chain is no completely connected. When we checked it over we found a few small breaks from way back in step 9. I was wondering how you can fix the tiny breaks in the chain without having to restart the whole tutorial 6 project. If you have any information or help, I would really appreciate it if you could please reply. Thank you. P.S. this program is ran on the mill part of it, if that makes any difference to the solution of this small problem.

modify/trim

I have not looked at the tutorial but you might be able to use the modify, trim 2 entities feature to get rid of small gaps. Just a thought.

An easy way to conect entites is to use modify, Trim, 2 entities. This will extend as well as trim back any entites that do not touch.

Sometimes when the entities won't trim you can just increase the chaining tolerance.....as long as you don't have to be exact.

if they are very small breaks and the trim function wont trim them(1 or both may be a spline), set your c plane to 3d and create line by endpoints, click on each end point and fill in the gap

+1 to Mayday. Creating a blended spline in the 3/d plane will work too....
