Cutter Compensation Warning

Hi there,

I'm wanting to put a warning as part of the comment line at the beginning of an operation (pcomment), when cutter radius compensation is in use, but I cant seem to do it. I recall possibly doing it in the past, but I just cant plain remember. Can anyone help me out on this? I'm sure the post has to "peek" further into the operation to do it, but I just cant reember if this is how I did it.

Any help is appreciated smile.gif

Hey Mick,

If you want to automate this do the following. Make sure you have

cc_1013 : 1

in your post so your post can look ahead to see if the current op uses cutter comp at the time of the tool change. Then, in the tool change block just put

if cc_pos, "blah blah"

and you should be all set. Check it out in the V9 post manual for more info.

wouldn't the G41 tell you that comp is active?

or are you having the comment say whether the comp is computer, wear, control, reverse wear,or off?

the latter would be beneficial to me because I always use control and my coworker uses wear.

Ok, I tried the cc_1013 example, and it worked, however, at the second tool operation, it didn't output it, even though it was using wear compensation. The first operation (different tool), used compensation in control, and it output it fine. Is there a seperate cc_ code for wear? I looked through the post guide, but couldn't find it.

Jeff,

Both control and wear use G41, and my customer wants to have a warning so that the operator knows to set the radius value accordingly in the control.

I'm in agreeance with you, I think it would be handy to hae it output something like "Warning: Control/Wear etc etc Compensation applied. Check tool settings"
