OFFSETTING

Is there a quick and easy way to offset a solid to allow for material thickness? I keep getting "gaps" , especially in tight radius and corner areas.

shell the solid outward. Make sure you pick the whole solid and not a face.

What about offsetting inward?

Then set it to inward or both whatever you need

Just be careful when you select your thickness, remember that it will want to offset each face evenly, and if that means that some of the faces start to become removed, it will not work.

 

If you have a problem start with a really thin shell and then gradually thicken it.
