vericut chook problems

can't get the mastercam-to-vericut c-hook to work...

 

install.pdf for vericut says that if you're using your standard mcam icon to launch it instead of using the mcam.bat file you need to define some environment variables to enable the c-hook...

 

what's all this about? has anyone gone through these steps that can walk me through it?

In c:cgtechwindowsmcamv there are 3 files they are the files needed for the c-hook put this into the C:macamchooks folder.

The 3 Files are the dll, the txt and the .scr file you also need to set your envirometal variables:

 

CGTECH_INSTALL : C:CGTECH (OR install Directory)

LSHOST : "Your PC Name that matches License"

 

Once you have set these then run the Chook.

I'm trying to install the mastercam-to-vericut c-hook for version 6. Would someone please explain how I set the environment variables?

I had troubles w/ v5.4 and had to call the tech support line. They sent me new files to replace the files that came on the CD and talked me through the setup in a short phone call.

 

I don't remember the details, (it was months ago) but I'd recommend calling the tech support line. The people (or at least the lady I spoke to) really know their stuff.

 

It might save an awful lot of trial and error.

How to install environment variables;

 

single click on "My Computer",

Right click "Properties,

Advanced tab,

"Environment Variables" button

Click "New" for either user or system.(System for Vericut)

Enter Variable Name & Value

OK

Repeat as needed

Restart computer

 

Done
