I've sent two files to the ftp site in a folder named punch and die folder. The material is going to be A2 I would like some advice on speeds and feeds, other ways to machine these two parts using level 1 mill, which milling cutters to use to get the smallest scallop height. Basicly any help on doing this would be great!!

I usually do simple programing drilling holes, milling countours, pockets, etc.

Roger,

I would try and use a bigger cutter to rough it out. On your first operation, if you changed it to a 2" button cutter, turned off multi-passes and add the tapered walls under the depth cuts. Then on the finishing operation, you can turn off multi-passes.

I'll uploaded a new file to the folder, top punch-matt.mc9

My cycle time estimates about 28 minutes compared to yours at 2hours 40 minutes, but that could change if the feeds and speeds don't work well for you.
