Hello

Can anybody provide a complete procedure so as to create Lathe Tool Geometric File to use in Custom Tool Defnition.

I tried to draw a Tool, save as MC8 file and when i Chose the saved Mc8 file for Custom Tool Geometry option Mastercam gives a message saying "Resoltion too high".

Ruth form CNC had sent me a Lathe tool already created and it is working fine.

I am unable to find what is the problem.

Draw your tool using a different color for the cutting edge and the holder.

The geometry for both must be a closed loop

(I think)

Once your done drawing, go to the tool cleance button at the bottom of the parameters page. It will bring up a new window.

Click "Scan Tool Geometry" button.

That should do it.
