Posting in XP

I'm having trouble posting nc-code out of windows XP (home edition). The post button in the operations manager does not activate the function. It can be made to work temporarily as follows: in CNCregedit, register control the *.ocx files, then reboot the system. This works till you exit

Mascam, then it becomes inactive and the process must be repeated. Is there a way to register them permanently?

Do any other Mastercam dialogs act "weird" in XP?

I see this as a valid question for the forum. It's fun to try to get things going on a new OS.

However, is it a reasonable expectation that CNC Software be forward compatible with respect to Operating Systems, anticipating Microsoft's moves years ahead of their own product releases?

Thanks to all for the responses. All other dialogs seem to work well. Posting from the NC Utilities menu works, it just seems to be astep backwards. Any other suggestions?

I'm not sure that will fix anything, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Ok i have tryed a few paths .

Surfaceing with XP pro.

It posted real fast on the scallop at .02 step over.

tryed a few others.

Sorry to say no problem yet.

What kind of path are you doing.

I am going to try later,the sam file in my win 2k box and the othere in XP and see if it is any faster.

if it is this is scary because the Win2k is a 1gig system

the other with XP is a 800.

Both have the same motherboards and amount of ram.

I will post again later.

Mainly 2D contouring / pocketing & some surface finishing. Could it possibly be hardware? Its a new HP P4 1.7 mhz, seems to run well otherwise.

Note: Activating File/New also disables posting.
