Post Question

Hi,

I am trying to figure out why PSOF in the mpfan post has a pbld in it in two places.

quote:

# -----------------------------------------------

# Motion output components

# -----------------------------------------------

pbld #Canned text - block delete

if bld, '/'

pfbld #Force - block delete

"/"

What does this do, and when is pbld bld to make the first condition true? Also, why is the output in pbld a '/' and the output in pfbld a "/"? Why are they using a ' and then a "?

Thanks!

The quotes "/" are used to output what ever is between them exactly as it is typed.

It looks to me like that line is looking for a character trigger and defining it as a Block Delete characater.

'/'

Dependent string, A dependent string literal is identical to a string literal except that the character string is enclosed within single quotes. This permits output to the NC filewhen there is valid output on the assembled NC line.

Click on the Canned Text Botton in the tool parameters page in both 9 and X, you will find this is where to turn the block delete on. This forces a / in front of the gcode lines of this operation. If Block delete is turned on in the control, your machine will bypass lines which contain the /.
